Wow, good for them! I haven't watched the finale yet, but I watched Tyler's talk show with the cast. The cast looks fun. Sad that Benny is indeed dead, haha. No more eye candy. But jeez louise, Tyler Perry sure does love himself! There's something about him that just irks me. It's like, if the conversation veers too far off course where someone isn't praising his brilliance, he has to reel them back in.

Wait, Benny is actually dead? I thought Katheryn just put him in a different hospital. There was a lot of sloppiness in terms of continuity.

I thought the last scene between Jim and Candace was really well done acting-wise, but that scene with Candace bringing everyone in the room and extorting the Cryers was laughably awful. I've never seen a show that can veer from brilliance to ghastly incompetence within one episode, but that's TP for you.

I thought the finale was OK. Could've peaked A LOT more but I'm guessing Tyler is saving that for the 2nd half of the season. And Benny isn't dead. Kathryn did move him. I just hope his a** ain't in the bed ALL next season and that Candice finds out the entire truth early on, so she can go on to dismantle the Cryer clan. Tyler's main issues is that he drags out certain things, doesn't hit the beats of others, and he focuses too much on trying to the barbs between characters (in dialogue) instead of developing them even more.

He's alive? "Praise Jesus, Hosannah in the Highest! Blessed be his holy name!" That's my Hannah impression. Is that revealed in the finale? From what I've seen as of last week, they alluded to him being deceased, but it wasn't completely confirmed, but then TP said he was dead on the talk show. My bad :)

I have not watched yet, but I'm not rushing to. As much as I like Veronica, in 2014, holding your son's "heterosexual" freedom over his head is not a bad bitch [so she she likes to constantly remind us]. It's psycho! And I cannot stand when this woman says "I'm a bad bitch". How many times did Alexis Carrington have to tell us she was a bad no nonsense bitch? Never because actions speak louder than words. If you have to remind someone how bad you are, then you really aren't that bad, are you?

I thought the finale was okay. Veronica had me hollering.

I really don't have any complaints about the show, but one thing I wish TP would do is pick up the pace a little. From watching every week, it seems like only 2 or 3 weeks, if that much, has passed for them.

Plus, Alexis never saw herself as "bad" anymore than J.R. Ewing (or Angela Channing, or Abby Ewing) did. She ALWAYS believed she was justified in what she did.

That was the funniest thing ever!!! She plunged that knife as deep as it could go in his back and he reacted like a bee stung him! And then he proceeds to keep on running? I guess he's just gonna take care of that knife in his back when he gets home from his run? LOL

Do they perform these scenes in one take like a daytime soap? I'd love to see the takes they didn't use for that stab scene.

Even the daytime soaps do reshoots on those types of scenes. Sometimes. GH and DAYS probably wouldn't but Y&R and B&B would've if a scene came out that bad.

And what was with goon squad kidnapping Candace in the public park while gym sits at the scene of the crime being smug

that was the finale? I didn't even know one was coming so soon. The episode was actually good

I cant say I feel sorry for Candace. She had this coming

I was LMAO at Amanda stabbing her rapist in the park

Man how slow are the cops? Hannah told them about Wyatt as she was being booked and that detective was able to make it to the campaign office warn Jim, who was able to drive back home and warn Wyatt, all BEFORE the cops got there

mid season finale? How many friggin finales can you have in ONE season?

    • Nick told Victoria that he and Sharon had married in England.  Victoria was shocked.  Then she realized he was kidding.  He confirmed it was a joke and they're platonic. I don't even know what to say about that.
    • It's funny you say that because part of the entertainment of the trials on the show are all the day players who come on as witnesses and jurors.  I'm certain it was like the Law and Order of its time. It employed so many New York actors, that if you look close enough, there's usually someone vaguely recognizable in the courtroom.
    • I will defend Dante.  People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner).  And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time.  So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.
    • Josh continues to try and milk Abbott/Newman rivalry. First it was Billy/Victoria, then Kyle/Summer, then Noah/Allie (that worked out well) and now Kyle/Claire. Do we have any inkling when Billy Flynn will arrive and who he will play? I'm sure Cole's illness will mostly play offscreen. What's in store for Nick and Sharon? Is it time to put them back together? I can't see any other romantic options. Nick has no children on the canvas to play off, as Christian is never seen. Sharon has only Mariah onscreen.
    • I would appreciate (if they're not coming), for future scripts to refer to them by their iconic hairdos.  For example, if Hope needs to call Chelsea because Bo has Sepsis, I'd like Shawn-D to say, "My Mom called Chelsea (the one with the sassy short black hair) for an update." Also, new rule, if Melanie does return, she needs to dye her hair back to red.  I googled who she was five times during Victor's funeral.

    • Broderick, thank you for all of the info [I edited for space]. I am so grateful for everyone filling in the blanks for me. I suspected the Nora/Eliot scene was very important and it was setting something up but I didn't know what. Can't wait to see it play out. The two actors had such a great back and forth. I should have made the Paige/Patty Hearst connection. I thought Paige was in love with Brian from the first episode I watched but it seemed as if they were brother and sister. Steve kept being affectionate with her so I assumed he was the love interest. Then she was affectionate with someone else and well..she's a very busy woman. I can't wait to see Frances Fisher show up. (I'm trying to be vague because I don't know what would be a spoiler in this storyline) Now it makes sense why Draper would be upset. I didn't get the whole background of why he didn't go to NY. I'm a sucker for good acting, so I might still side with April and Margo, if the writers don't give Draper more to do besides yelling.  He had more chemistry with Logan, but I know that's not happening.  Something else I noticed: the show really takes care with even the smallest parts. The acting is superb. Too often, I noticed on older soaps they don't take care with the recurring or day players (Ryan's Hope was so bad with this that I couldn't make it through some episodes). It's only been six episodes, but so far, the casting department was spot on.
    • I thought Dante was overreacting.  Gio made some mistakes but he's young and he tried.  It's not like he dragged two 14 years to a party and made them get blackout drunk.  Dante can have the initial upset reaction, but to go on and on was a bit much.
    • His (adoptive) nieces.  Chelsea and Stephanie.  I think Abby was involved too, but I am not sure if they are related lol.
    • That was such a dark story. I never liked Swamp girl after that. And then the dating your cousin thing. I think wasn’t Max in a triangle with two of his cousins?
    • Thank you, @j swift.  I'm probably more sympathetic to Draper Scott than most audience members are -- even though I'm absolutely CRAZY about Ann Williams & her bizarre Margo Huntington character

The more I watch these episodes -- and I've watched several of them a zillion times, I'm ashamed to admit -- you realize there's a WHOLE lot of passive-aggressive hostility brewing inside Margo Huntington about Draper.  She wants to take April AWAY from him and recreate the childhood that she never got to experience with April, because of the adoption 25 years ago.  Draper has sense enough to realize how heartless and vindictive Margo really is about other people's lives and their feelings, but he bites his tongue rather than poison his wife's mind about how horrible her mother really is.  And I admire him for that.  He's a sweet boy.
