There was the Asian doc on Sunset Beach though I don't think she lasted long, and Ann Li lasted two or so years on AMC didn't she (played by two actors--does that count as two?) Lindsay Price didn't do too badly post AMC (considering how hard it is to get a role as an Asian on American TV).

Ugh, I hate disagreeing with you, but... They can always briefly interrupt or write on the screen "For more tune into the news channel--" though I know the networks want their own ratings. But--a lot of people now do not find a new pope news that has to be witnessed live. I was at work--someone mentioned it, nobody could have cared much (working as a TA in a university, here--it's not like they interrupted classes.) A lot of us find the role of the Pope as very irrelevent now (yes, I'd feel the same way if they interrupted to proclaim a new British monarch.) Most people who still think it's news that has to be witnessed live (and don't get me wrong, he still has enough world influence that it IS news, as much as I wish it wasn't--but not a historical moment to be witnessed live.)

Anyway, how much was pre-empted (I haven't checked my DVR yet--I shoulda recorded the later Canadian feed)? If a huge amount was they'd just push the episode back wouldn't they/

Starr and Michael or John and Sam you can at least say they have done work on, even if you don't like them. They've put a lot of time into that and they've given a lot of time to Todd and Carly too. But neither of those other pairings are word for word, beat for beat the same stuff of old as Todd and Carly to me. It

If you say so. Lol. John and Sam were insta bond. Michael and Starr only slightly more developed. And if you never watched Jolie you might not recognize the abridged version without all that unnecessary build. Just proclaim the connection from day one. Never show John trying to avoid it. Never see him not being able to or even trying to fight it. Never show Sam being cautious or concerned.

Well, in my opinion, there can never be too much disdain for Sabrina and Carly right now.

One's a Mary Sue who's pure sweetness and light with nary a bad thought in her head and Carly is... Slagbeast.

Both are equally snoozeworthy, in my opinion.

Once these vets disappear after the 50th, this show will be better than Ambien for insomnia.

I mostly feel like Carly is just sort of there. They seem to have lost purpose for her.

I think there was too much coverage, but the Queen and family are probably more popular in the US than the UK in recent years.

I look at it more as not bringing all the old baggage with me. John's never going to be someone I like very much, that's true, and it doesn't mean I don't want Natalie to get a chance to hit him with a frying pan should he return to OLTL, but everyone involved with him including the man himself seems a lot less weighted down by the misery that seemed to embody John on OLTL (but then there's the poor people in the Connie story - Jesus Christ). It's a new setting which I think all three of the characters have benefited from at one point or another. It's the same reason I can't get too vexed about Todd and Carly, because I like some of his story on GH, and in the end couples just don't faze me as much as the bigger, more systemic problems with a soap. Like a guy retelling the same misogynistic DID storyline three or four times.
