OLTL: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

I'm pretty sure Nikki called Cutter a p-ussy-hunter.

They really need to let the shows stay dirty for online next go-round. Syndication or no, they can handle it online.

Good scene, otherwise. I think they have some scared, overzealous interns bleeping these shows way after the fact, unsure of what's okay and what's not from episode to episode. Real profanity has slipped through on AMC and harsher language than a lot of this on both. There's no consistent baseline because this was a sudden decision. Sanitizing them isn't going to work unless they do it from the start next time - and I'd just as soon they shoot two takes, clean and dirty.

No news, but Michael teased that there might be some shockers in the season finale, and that

.. I was pretty nervous this go around and was tongue tied and stupidly said that I sent gifts to them months ago when I spoke to them,

Florencia did say she wished they played more into Tea's grief over Victor III and why Dani OD and her behavior, Kelley mentioned she wished that the writers explained how her and Matthew got to be close again since at the end of ABC's OLTL, they weren't as close due the Nate thing. Flo also mentioned how she hates when Blair and Tea's "friendship" is all gumdrops and lollipops, also called mentioned Tomas and VIctor. Florencia also talked about when she crossed over to GH and how she used to see it as a kid, and how everyone is "chilled" and "laid back" there

Flo was also totally unfiltered, which I really loved...

I get the feeling that the cast at GH isn't so much "chilled" and "laid back" as "drunk" and "loaded on xanax."

Ugh. That was awful. It's a real shame because it looks to like OLTL was written with more R rated language than AMC (AJ notwithstanding) which makes perfect sense for characters like these and a setting like Shelter. The editing makes that scene unintelligible. I'm guessing they released it to Access Hollywood because of J-Woww which was a good promotional move but why would anyone who say that hacked up mess want to tune in?

I think the scene is fine. It's the bleeping I have a problem with.

They also had that wonderful (and too short) scene of Téa and Blair cussing up a storm about Todd and Victor while drinking huge glasses of wine last week, but that wasn't nearly as bleeped as this.

Access Hollywood could have bleeped some of it, too. They aren't online or cable and it's on early in the evening. Wait until it airs rather than rushing to judgment.

Great scene but yeah, I wish PP would at least give us the option of watching the Uncensored version. This censored version really takes the edge off. Has anyone asked PP how we can see uncensored episodes?

I asked them to put the 'dirty' episodes on Hulu and film two takes in the future for the purposes of syndication. But that was well before any official announcement re: seasons.

I'm hoping they reexamine their options in the hiatus and, if there continues to be a TV syndication option on OWN or...elsewhere, that they let the 'clean' shows air with appropriate dialogue there while leaving the dirty talk online.

According to Michael Fairman's twitter account, he will have a TOLN radio podcast on the night of the OLTL first season finale with special guests Corbin Bleu (Jeffrey) and Robert S. Woods (Bo)!

    • Creatively, he probably should have stayed with The Doctors, where he stood out as an antihero lead. Not sure what happened with GH. He didn't have the same impact. Was it bad writing, not clicking with co-stars? Didn't they gave him a boat load of money to join GH in 1976? Was Mark Dante just a toned-down version of Nick Bellini? Were they basically the same character?
    • All I can think of is if a lot of big names were leaving around that time she wanted him back as a stopgap, although I have never seen any real evidence that he was popular with GH viewers.
    • I loved watching Shanice hand Leslie her ass and finally shutting her up. It was so good. I also love Martin & Smitty's family.  Anita has to have some sort of plan giving Leslie the tickets to mail for Winterfest. She has to be setting her up for a fall. It's pretty obvious to me Vernon is not cheating with Sharon. I think Sharon is helping him with his terrible singing voice for Winterfest. I still believe Bill & Dani are endgame but I love Dani & Andre too. I am definitely enjoying this story. And making Hayley a black widow is a nice twist.
    • Sorry for the spam. Wasn't sure where to put this, it's from Tony Geary's husband's IG. Tony watching Genie and Maurice on Mo's show.
    • This show is really trundling along BTW. When is someone going to show up to slit Beastmaster's throat or crack the whip on metrosexual Sidwell? (BTW, openly presenting this cheery bon vivant as casually bisexual would at least be something vaguely diverting.) At least kill Brennan by year's end. I'm bored.
    • She told Vanessa to "DOUBLE her offer" on the Jarvis house.  The Jarvis family accepted the doubled price.  Assuming the house has an appraised value of $2,000,000, she's theoretically paid the Jarvis family $4,000,000 for the house.  The bank would loan Leslie 80% of the appraised value ($1,600,000), and Leslie had to pay the balance with cash at closing --- $2,200,000.  She only had ONE million.  Where the hell did she get the rest?!  And now she's got contractors working on the house all day & half the night.  Who's paying THEM?  I keep thinking all this will crash around her.  Either that or the writers have absolutely no idea the limits of a million dollars.  Sounds like a "lot of money", but it obviously ain't when we look at Leslie's spending since she got that million dollar check in August.

    • Vernon is an idiot. Why would he have Sharon in the same hotel that Leslie is staying at?
    • Yes, that out of the blue return was odd. Maybe GG found a forgotten clause in the contract he signed when he was wooed to ABC and they were forced to take him back! Like George Reinholt he talked about the contract that promised him primetime roles. But it was loaded in the networks favor. I think it was Gloria Loring that re-signed at Days on the promise of primetime opportunities, but that was all it was- she was put up for guest spots and TV movies but not necessarily guaranteed that she get the role.
    • I still am baffled by why Monty brought back stunt hire Gerald Gordon in the early '80s out of nowhere for like a year. I haven't found anyone who can come up with a thing he did in that second stint of note.
