AMC: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

Ideally, perhaps Agnes would be taking a larger role as she once did with several proteges in the '90s. I always felt Marlene McPherson was an optimal choice for AMC in that regard, so it wouldn't surprise me. OTOH, Agnes is eighty-five [!@#$%^&*] years old, so I'm really not expecting that.

I'm no Marlene McPherson fan but I'm not surprised the AMC cast isn't mentioning her and I don't think it means much. None of them know her from a hole in the wall, except maybe Lindsay Hartley. Actually Cady is the only one who has mentioned Marlene McP by name, in a tweet.

From the Jerry ver Dorn pics that were posted in the OLTL thread, I noticed they are AMC related as well...

I noticed that sign on the bottom left is the "Jane's Addiction" sign (see second below picture, Heather Roop is wearing a Jane's Addiction apron)

And this pic has a Pine Valley Hospital ICU logo

The only thing that worries me a little is that last set has a "Horton Town Square" feel to it. And not too sure why the Chandler living room is at the end of it lol.

The hospital is more similar to the late 90s/early 2000s version except a lot nicer.

The good thing for AMC is that it was never really a good-looking show IMO. At its best it had great writing and great acting, but never particularly nice sets. The best it probably looked was after the move to L.A. So this might just be a major improvement vs. its ABC run.

I think in the late 90s-00s that AMC had some of the worst and cheapest looks sets and the lighting was terrible. They got a huge boost out of the LA move. I also found the sets on OLTL to look cheap, but they were better designed. I'm looking forward to a new look for both. I hope they look as good as these early pictures suggest.

I thought some AMC sets were nice over the years, but towards the end they got small and looked like no gave a damn. Which they didn't. I agree the move to LA helped but the sets were still mostly 'meh' to me.

At least we HAVE sets and it's not being filmed in an office or a ditch.
