I think I join others here who believe that Russ never really got over Rachel. So, I would have considered him in the wake of Mac's death as a partner for Rachel. I do not even remember Hover, might as well be WHOver?!!! But, Sam Groom & David Bailey each in their own ways were good. Of course, it would have been good to have some more relatives for him & my own strong preference was for Beverly Penberthy. Pat could have functioned as his sister and she could have worked at Cory, too. But, always open to new talent. -
Sure, but when it comes to playing gay roles a lot of straight men become terrified that people will actually think they are gay if they do a kissing scene. -

I forgot about the Charlotte Wheaton saga....wasnt her real killer that Alicia television woman..it really was a big "who cares" as it involved people we didn't know (I do wish Charlotte would have lived to just be an annoying pain in the ass to everyone as a recurring character...)It didn't help that it was Faux Ed and as you say, VanFleet makes PS look like a live wire! Didn't Fletcher and Mo have a radio show at that time WTF was Long thinking during this time? I saw another clip of Maeve and she is yet again laying in bed as she is preggers..I swear LD must have had it written in her contract that she was to remain off her feet for all of her roles..(wasn't she in a wheel chair on ATWT?) -
Jill's descent into madness is one of the storylines that made Knots Landing go off the rails in the aftermath of Laura departure. The other two were Charles Scott and Johnny Rourke. -
You're welcome @Paul Raven. There was also the CBS schedule change of February 4, 1980, when an expanded Y&R moved from noon ET to 1 pm ET, and the local programming half hour moved from 1 pm ET to noon ET.

Jill’s evolution (or devolution?) is interesting. I didn’t even realize she made a couple innocuous appearances as early as the latter half of Season 6. I probably need to do a more thorough rewatch because tangled web Peter weaved sometimes left me so confused and still does…like Gary knowing about Jill being Peter’s sister and all the lies but everyone else acted so oblivious. Obviously the two things that set Jill off the deep end; First was Abby’s threat “The first Mrs Ewing never goes away” and second was seeing Greg use the urn of Peter’s ashes being uses a set decoration/paper weight which she of course stole.
