Steve and Jessie are the only original characters that lasted for a long time. Audrey came in after close to a year. Later, Lee Baldwin joined the show.

Lucille Wall's character, Lucille March Weeks, lasted around 20 years. Her final years were on & off due to ill health, but still that's a really long time.

Lee Baldwin came on in 1963 played by Ross Elliott. And then in 1965, Peter Hansen took over the role.

Wow. I did not know that. Thanks for the info.

Although she won several Emmys for her General Hospital work, I will always look back at that particular era (2001-2011) as the worst ever for that show. Sonny, Jason and Carly day in and day out. That s*#@ became unwatchable by 2003 or 2004.

Again, how does that define who she is as a person? Because she had a different creative vision than what it was you wanted to see?

This is the female Paul Rauch.

Very well said.

Thank you. :)

She could be the nicest woman on the planet - I just don't like what she did to my show. She gutted General Hospital, dismantled the Qs, and made it entirely about Sonny, Jason and Carly. Ugh. Good riddens. I'm so glad she's off my show. Good luck Y&R. You're going to need it.

She did that with Brian Frons' blessing, if not at his behest.

And it's "Good Riddance." There's no such word as "riddens."

I took that as a side diss of Jamey Giddens.

Probably not intended, but I took it anyway.

As for JFP, I never thought I would say this, as I spent at least a decade all but crusading against her soap work - I don't give a [!@#$%^&*] anymore. If someone thinks she's going to ruin Y&R, you're about ten years too late.

From the few times I've met her, I actually thought Jill was nice

Sure she could be a tough woman and many dislike what she's done to their shows and/or the jobs, but she has not been in this business for over 25 years for nothing!

I'm also getting tired of people complaining about "JFP's stories", "JFP's characters", etc. as if JFP were actually writing the show. She's not. Josh Griffith is writing the stories, deciding when to add a new character, etc. (and frankly he's doing a bang-up job). JFP produces, Griffith writes.

Is JP an EVIL woman? Of course not. She may fire your favorites and hire her friends but that does not make one evil.

I think she's more talented than a lot of people want to give her credit for.

I hated what she did to General Hospital, but her sin was being unable to control Brian Frons, who pretty much gave Bob Guza free reign to destroy everything that made General Hospital General Hospital. I'm willing to bet anything that Frons had a big hand in the Anna Lee fiasco as well.

Her Guiding Light years (aside from the Mo Bauer error in judgment) were the last years Guiding Light was ever firing on all cylinders.

Sure, there are bad stories going around about Jill and I have no doubt she can be a stone cold bitch when she wants or needs to be, but no one ever talks about the good stories as well.

Anyone have any GOOD stories about Phelps?

I don't think she's evil. I think she's made a good number of bad decisions, but one simply does not stay in the business as long as she has and keep winning Emmys if she's as hated as it seems.

That about sums it up. Folks can attempt to whitewash her to their hearts' content, but her handiwork speaks for itself.

it amazes me to this day that there are people who actually defend this woman. To each their own I guess lol.

Evil is such an unecessarily strong word. Be mad about what she did to your favorite soap all you want but evil is pushnig it over a TV show. It's not like she kicks puppies and kills children.

No, just some people are not going to label someone as evil because we disagree with her choices. It's not like we know the entire story to any thing anyways.
