Will Mariah scoop the pool this year?

I wouldn't be surprised if she misses out on the major awards, with the exception of Best Female Pop Vocal.

I think John Legend will do very well(he's the sort of artist the grammy people always like).

I predict also that Green Day, Kelly Clarkson and Paul McCartney will be winners.

i actually think mariah will lose best pop vocal to Kelly. Mariah will get Song of the year, traditional R&B performance, and probably record of the year. mccartney will get Album cuz Mariah &Kanye would split the R&B vote. I really think Kanye will only get 1 or 2 awards. I think his cocky ass comments about how he is the greatest thing in music and his Jesus impersonation on the cover of Rolling Stone will turn voters off.

I think Mariah will be shut out of the Big 3, but she will pick up a few in the R&B categories. Missy Elliot will beat out all 4 men for Rap Album. The White Stripes will win both awards in which they are nominated. And Best New Artist will be one of those WTF wins when Keane takes home the gold. Sheryl Crow is a Grammy fave so I think she will win Pop Vocal Performance.

I'll predict the main categories

I'd love to see Sugarland win Best New Artist...each individual member (including Kristen, who just left) has spent over a decade in the industry, playing clubs, writing songs etc.. before hitting it big. Jennifer Nettles has the most incredibly voice. But, John Legend is definitely going to win...most buzz, decent critical acclaim, and significant backing from a big name (Kanye)

I don't think Kelly Clarkson is going to win big because of the Idol stigma. She's obviously talented, but my guess is some Grammy voters are still a little weary because of that. Gwen's gonna win the Pop stuff, and I think Mariah will win the R&B stuff. Both are relatively "safe" choices.
