December 22, 201213 yr Member I'm still curious about what made the numbers drop last week. If it wasn't something external that makes me wonder if it was something internal to Nielsen. Everybody dropped and gained by a similar margin. WTF happened? Edited December 22, 201213 yr by marceline
December 22, 201213 yr Member Wasn't Wednesday's 1.8 the same episode where Anna learned Faison was posing as Duke? Can't believe that was the lowest rated for the week.
December 22, 201213 yr Member I am just happy to see the ratings are steady and in some cases better than last year.

It kind of reminds me of the Bill Bell days. I also want to say the production has been Grade A. The production got so bad under MAB. It began looking cheap. Y&R now looks like a elegant, classy soap.

Did the promos let on the Wednesday was the day to watch? I think it did it's job since the ratings went up the next day. We'll see how they are next week. I must say I'm VERY PLEASED with B&B! Those ratings were very consistent. I hope the ratings stay up in January when their black storyline is heading to the frontburner. I want it to do well in the ratings so they keep those characters in heavy rotation.

December 22, 201213 yr Member Can you tell me what exactly a "black storyline" is? Thanks! It's the one that certain viewers and members of the press choose to use as a demonstration that daytime values diversity even when all the evidence is to the contrary. December 22, 201213 yr Member Can you tell me what exactly a "black storyline" is? Thanks! Black story line is when only blacks are in the story line.

LOL that is so true! I remember OLTL used to be a very diverse show. Then for whatever reason over the years white families phased all diversity out. Glad to see Y&R is adding black characters again though.
December 23, 201213 yr Member Black story line is when only blacks are in the story line. In other words - a storyline featuring black characters? That's all I was getting at. LOL that is so true! I remember OLTL used to be a very diverse show. Then for whatever reason over the years white families phased all diversity out. Glad to see Y&R is adding black characters again though. OLTL diverse? When? As for YR adding black characters? There's adding black characters and then there's adding black characters that actually participate in the stories. It looks as if YR is doing just that - giving the black characters stories and featuring them. Neil? Still hate that interesting black males have come and gone from CBS Daytime but KSJ is still there. What a total bore!
December 23, 201213 yr Member In relatively recent years, I'd say OLTL was diverse from 92-94, and to a degree from about 95-97. The ethnic cleansing began in earnest after that and never really stopped.
