I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Re: JR and the shooting. It's bad enough if they write that he shot himself. I wouldn't have him responsible for shooting anybody else on top of that. I'm hoping that they'll write that JR shot into the air and then ran off in his car and crashed because he was drunk.

I'm okay with suicide attempts to a point. Driving drunk and aimlessly? That's suicidal to a point. Shooting yourself in the mouth or head is beyond that point.

Eh...I think JR killed Marissa (accidentally - from the gun he dropped after trying to kill himself - creating all sorts of tension between JR/David and JR/AJ and eliminating the ICK factor of AJ/Miranda being romantically involved after being raised as siblings since they were seven) and that Krystal/Jenny died tragically (my preference, since they're both pretty useless at this point and Tad already has one little girl - plus it could explain Tad's absence i.e., he freaked over the loss of his kid) or moved away from PV at some point during the 5 year time jump.

Interesting idea. I hope this is the case.

That's a cute tweet. Hard to see it making people forget his other famous tweet from three years ago right after he was fired and subsequently failed to receive an Emmy nomination:

"We tell a story that was ground-breaking and powerful, then lose my job and am over-looked for a nomination. Daytime is such a joke."

I don't blame Brett for being upset then. He got hosed twice -- fired and ignored for his excellent work. I'm sure it didn't help that ABC was spinning the show's ratings and the firings on Brett/Scott.

He was 100% right. I have no desire to forget that. Daytime is a joke. He wasn't just fired, he was blamed for ratings losses and smeared in the soap "press."

Same here, also with Tad's little girls, too. The only "next generation" kids I ever cared about were Miranda, AJ, Spike, and Emma. The others can be used as needed, but they aren't necessary. Maybe Ian can be a voice of reason for Spike and Miranda because he thinks AJ isn't worth them hating each other ("Why can't we be cool again like when we were kids???").

I have no real interest in Emma, but I agree with the others. But I do think there's potential with the likely rivalry between Kate and Jenny. I would imagine Kate as a very interesting character, because she should have been some sort of chosen one, the daughter Tad and Dixie had wanted for years, but through one thing and another she was torn from family after family, and by the time she was reunited with both Tad and Dixie, Dixie was so broken that I wonder if she can be a mother.

I didn't really have an issue with that. A lot of people feel like they deserve a nomination, and that would have pretty much been all he had at that point, to not remember his experience with complete bitterness.

I wasn't planning on buying the issue, but I MUST know that capacity he's working in. This is why I will need to SEE AMC before I get excited. First we get two HWs I'm not excited about, then you have an unclear main cast and now Chris Goutman is joining the show. I will be watching, but I need to see this before I can get excited.
