HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

I still have no idea who Bren is.

She runs Soap Opera Socialite Productions, which has held events for AMC/OLTL stars. They helped Jill Larson with her recent YouTube videos.

The five-year jump thing comes originally from Soaps in Depth, I believe: http://abc.soapsindepth.com/2013/02/lucci-and-canary-back-to-amc.html

The aging is an extension of that -- as well as, I believe, what people saw in the audition scripts for the parts they thought were AJ and Miranda. I had been thinking AJ and Miranda would be 13/14, but if this girl is playing Miranda, it would seem she was SORASed to be in her late teens.

People think she is too young for Colby but I think this actress is probably in her 20s. Does anyone know what age she is?

It's my understanding that AJ/Miranda have been aged to 16/17.

How will the actors be getting to Stamford? I ask this as a Texan who knows nothing about transportation in the NY/CT area. Are they more likely to take a train or is it likely for someone like Robin Strasser to drive there? I also wonder if some of the actors with a closer commute would still consider a hotel so they didn't have to do the hour drive every day.

Thats why Im thinking Colby Chandler

She really strikes me as Colby too...

I took one look at her and said, "Miranda." She's got the coloring right and that devilish grin which lends itself to the whole troubledteendealingwiththepainofbeingtheproductofrape-thing tipped in that audition script.

I just can't imagine them hiring an actress who wasn't blonde to play Colby.

She looked dirty blonde to me... But I am bad with hair colour. Wouldn't Miranda have much darker hair, though (realistically anyway)

She's brunette in her Twitter pic so who knows ;-p (eta: plus that short was 3-4 years ago)

mousey.jpg

If it wa four years ago, then I'd say she'd be too old for a SORASed Miranda (but who knows...:P )

@rickygoldin Ricky you going to be in the reboot of #AMC? Wish they'd reboot #GL too

'@michliz70 ..I will always be there to help them out in any way they need me! AMC is my family, and i love them!

That was neither a yes nor a no. Interesting ... Maybe he is one of the ones under wraps and/or he will be making a guest appearance in first episode.

So ... most likely Miranda.

The twitter picture screams Kane off-spring (dark features with that Kaneish glint), but she kind of looks young adult more than teenager. That said, she looks a bit younger than I would expect a new Colby to be. She did give me Colby vibes in the short though with the dirty blond hair and the slight baby fat.

I live in Queens. I can get to some places in CT faster than I can get to some places in Queens but it (travel to CT) has to be by car or train (Metro). I'm guessing a lot of actors traveled at least an hour to work when the show was in NY as well, so I don't forsee Tri-State area located actors getting hotel rooms or such.

There is an Amtrak/Metro station right in Stamford.

People like David Canary & Ray MacDonnell who live 20-30 minutes away will make that commute each day. Julia Barr is about 45 minutes, so probably her too. But people like Jerry verDorn who's an hour and a half away, I don't know what would be easier for him to do.

I know people that drive to/from PA to NYC everyday! Not that much of a stretch for those driving to CT with only an hour commute (it's basically the length of time it takes to take a train from Manhattan to Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx).

I'd imagine most of the actors will be taking the train to CT back and forth as length isn't terrible and if not, they can stay with people they know during the week and live in NY on weekends. I know people who live in CT on weekends and live in NYC during the week, but their primary residence is the CT address.

Doesn't Erika Slezak live in Connecticut?

Maybe she is Colby? She looks like she's old enough

If that photo was 3-4 years old, she's definitely old enough to be Colby and too old to be Miranda, imo.

I am giving these AMC writers a chance because at first Marlene was to blame when it came to the pacing of DOOL under her command and now everyone is blaming her co-head for the poor pacing. Also, we have a long running EP at AMC who served for AMC for 20 years or so while two people who nobody truly knows anything about story-wise VS an EP at OLTL that doesn't have a tenure near as long as Ginger Smith's tenure in the field of Daytime let alone OLTL but they have 2 head writers that have a very dynamic and iconic history in daytime. Basically, either show has a good chance of winning and loosing. I think AMC will be great because Ginger Smith not only has 20 years of experience at AMC but Agnes is helping. Also, PP is hiring people that know there stuff so if these new head writers for AMC do not do well I can see PP hiring someone who can do a good job.

I am more nervous for the success of OLTL because Jennifer Pepperman doesn't have a lot of experience at OLTL, compared to Ginger Smith at AMC and they are EP's so they can hire/fire writers.

Looking at the awards, it seems that Elizabeth Synder has been more nominated than either Susan Bedsow-Horgan or Thom Racina. I think AMC is in a great position, too, having both 2 Emmy-winning headwriters, one with an extensive history in the field of daytime, and an EP who knows the history of the show. I'm quite excited with these choices!!!

Emmy's mean nothing, Guza won emmy's as did McTavish.

Anyone know what ES wrote for GH or PC

I hope McPherson is better on AMC than she was on DOOL. Maybe AMC will be a better fit for her than DOOL was

I think McPherson had some good ideas for days her hands were tied which made things an impossibility.

As much as I hate Guza/McTavish they knew how to tell a compelling story in the sense they were not boring plus they were pretty coherent for the most part.
