HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Your typo made me assume they'd gotten their money from the Arby's fast food franchise. Which I'm not sure still exists.

Weren't Barr and Larson working on some websoap or something? I do have to wonder, if it is Barr, what she has going on?

It could be Rebecca Budig (gag me, I know). You never know who they think is popular and she'd be on they'd consider "popular".

I thought Henderson had no real star quality, which threw me, as he was supposed to be like JR. Maybe he improved later on.

I think the Dallas reboot is similar to most reboots - a few vets, while the young actors dominate. I think that OLTL and AMC will probably have mostly recasts, and some returning vets, but I think that they can't really get away with a total reboot. Overall I think it will mostly be new people, though.

Yeah, I'm not saying he has "star quality", I just think as an actor, he's better than Brewster and especially Metcalfe. He has a lot of room to grow and I hope he does. I think they should have casted John Ross and Christopher very differently than they did but I'm OK with Henderson.

Well, the OLTL reboot has almost all vets which I think is a big plus (whether we think they are vets or if we even like them doesn't matter), but AMC is seriously lacking so I think it's the one that's going to have just a few key vets and more recasts/new people. At least each show has some familiar younger faces, that are all virtually clean slates, so I'm not willing to dismiss them thinking they'll be written exactly as they were before. I think they should take a few minor liberties with the younger crowd. It's just a matter of the writing being there and the actor being the right one for the part. Gold could strike if played and written right.

I really hope they aren't holding out for her..... she would probably only commit short term, and honestly, its not worth it.

If CBL is willing, I say give her first dibs. She was great as Bianca.

Me either. CBL is familiar enough if you watched the show at the end. I think she has a lot of room to be developed and get a stronger presence on the canvas. Her Bianca just kinda felt "there" and never had much to do until they put her with Marissa. I think she's capable of a lot more. I'd like to see more of her but if it's ER, then whatevs, maybe she'll actually stick around (LOL)

Actually I was surprised how much Bobby dominated a lot of the first season. Bobby vs John Ross over Southfork was front and center as JR was working more behind the scenes. Sue Ellen was the vet under-used.

For me the biggest issues with Greenlee revolved around Budig's coldness and lack of chemistry with people. I think there's a danger in making blatant clones of previous characters. Greenlee was supposed to be like Liza, to a degree, with Scott as Greg, and Becca as Jenny. Then Greenlee became like Erica. Whatever she was, I never believed in it, or wanted to do so.

I think RB played her cold and I hated the gritted teeth stuff she did.

I always seen SMG's Kendall and Greenlee to be very simliar, probably why I can't stand SMG's Kendall

My ratio is now up to 95% if that helps. Prospect Park announced additional funding via ARBY Financing, if that helps. No way they'd lose all that money and not produce something.

Wow color me shocked, I'm starting to believe PP did really spend the last year working out deals.

I can only say I enjoyed Greenlee when she was with Leo, and when she was vindictive towards Ryan (especially her brief "romance" with David).

I found Rebecca very wooden when she was paired up with Cam... they sucked the life out of each other.... its so hard to believe they are such great friends. Half the time Rebecca seemed so bored....

Hulu is FREE

Hulu PLUS costs 7.99 a month

I-tunes usually charges 1.99 an episode. DOOL is on there and they have season pass prices. It costs 21.99 for the 2011-12 season

I can honestly say I was rooting for Laura when I was channel surfing to AMC back pre-2002. I eventually warmed up to Greenlee & Leo but it took time. I liked Greenlee, genuinally, for only about a year. That year span was a couple of months before Leo died until Ryan's return, more or less. (She's warmest opposite AM, she plays that relationship more complex than she plays most.) Her dress-ripping and wedding interruptus and Thanksgiving massacres were fun (read: highly entertaining) after that though.

ICAM on the friendship. But, maybe, that's partially why they sucked so much? That, and the fact R & G never should have been paired for a million and one reasons and had awful writing.

ETA:

I feel you on Netflix, df. Netflix is so much more familiar.

They dropped what appears to be the official Cassandra audition script earlier this afternoon. I'm amused at Angie being called "Aleta" when Jesse's name is mentioned 5 billion times.

"Cassandra" is hating on man-kind (read: males) in these scripts due to a break-up.

I wish it was on netflix, I have a subsription to that and can watch it on my tv lol

You can watch Hulu on your TV if you pay, like you do Netflix. Don't see the difference...

Maybe they cast the role
