Fans of “General Hospital” finally learned the truth about Nathan West’s return to Port Charles when it was revealed on the Tuesday, March 31 episode of the daytime drama series that Ryan Paevey‘s latest turn as the good detective was not who he appeared to be since returning last year. In fact, he’s not Nathan West at all, but Cassius Faison!
The big shock came at the end of the episode, when “Nathan” appeared at Wyndemere after being summoned by Sidwell (Carlo Rota), who wanted to discuss the case involving the murder of his son, Marco (Adrian Anchondo). The big bad of Port Charles is certain Sonny (Maurice Benard) had something to do with Marco’s death and wants the mob boss to pay, something which “Nathan” disagreed with, saying, “I’m not so sure that that’s something that I would do.”
The comment didn’t sit well with Sidwell, who angrily responded, saying, “Well, that’s not something that Detective Nathan West would do. But I’m not talking to Nathan West right now. I’m talking to Cassius Faison.”
The revelation ended there, with viewers left to ponder who exactly this person with Nathan’s face is and how, despite a DNA test confirming his identity as Nathan and his retention of memories from before Nathan’s death years earlier, he has been able to get away with impersonating the town hero.
Is he a twin, someone wearing some sort of mask to look like Nathan or a convenient doppelganger? Obviously, with the last name Faison, it would appear he’s related to Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), the notorious villain who’s had it in for Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and the late Luke Spencer (played by the late Anthony Geary).
Regardless of who ends up being, fans will just have to tune in tomorrow to find out what’s next in the unraveling storyline.
