July 17, 201312 yr Author Member People often do racist things, but don't realize it or consider themselves a racist. It happens to me almost everyday, but most cases you can't say anything because you get accused of pulling the race card. Unfortunately, it's just something a black person (especially black men) have to deal with on a daily basis. Thank you! I don't think George hates black people he is just the product of a society that is on high alert when they see young black men that they think are up to no good. It's still not an excuse for the events that took place on February 26 but it is just the sad state of race relations and stereotypes in America.
July 17, 201312 yr Member Very well put, Wales. We haven't always agreed on matters of race in the past, but I've always respected your opinions and been curious about your own background as a frame of reference. I've learned and continue to learn that everyone can be right and wrong at the same time when it comes to certain topics. I've also decided that background is irrelevant to me unless someone is claiming to speak for a group or be an expert on a group. I don't think an opinion needs to be qualified because people feel what and how they feel. And perhaps Zimmerman's bias is with black men, not black women. There are plenty of people out there who gender separate when it comes to their racism. I actually believe that the real racism fight in America is the black man vs. the white man. There is the tangible aspect and the rest is a mixture of things such as pride, ego, competition,, I'm a man, and I'm reacting to what I think you're thinking, etc. After being asked one too many times why Mr. Balck Power always has a white woman, I came to the conclusion that his issue is not with her at all. I will not start on the women. Is saying "you're articulate for a black...." remotely close to saying "you're pretty for a dark skinned...?" And do you really find a color blind claim to be a new form of racism?
July 17, 201312 yr Member Thank you! I don't think George hates black people he is just the product of a society that is on high alert when they see young black men that they think are up to no good. It's still not an excuse for the events that took place on February 26 but it is just the sad state of race relations and stereotypes in America. I think he is this fat cowardly, little man who wanted to be a tough guy cop all his life and to that end he took a law course and an MMA course so he could live out his fantasies and then he went around playing Batman being this neighborhood vigilante. If he did not have a gun there is no way he would have approached Martin, and it shows you how weak he is physically that this 17 year old was able to get the better of the guy who regularly attended the MMA gym. Weak physically, weak mentally, and this is going by George Zimmerman's version. What gets me is the ego and arrogance of the Zimmerman brother going on CNN and asking what could have led Trayvon to attack George so brutally.
July 17, 201312 yr Author Member His brother is truly a piece of sh-t. He tweeted something months back saying why wouldn't someone be suspicious of blacks with a hoodie. That moron Frank Taaffe was calling people negroes and cotton pickers on his Twitter and told someone he already paid off his slave bill. SMH. Birds of a feather.... Zimmerman is garbage and I can't with people ignoring his past including a molestation accusation.... Using the logic that THC in Trayvon's system equals being high that night maybe Rachel was right when she said it could be a rapist following Trayvon. Edited July 17, 201312 yr by Eric83
July 17, 201312 yr Member So you have an eye witness that says Trayvon was on top beating him, a story that lines up with Zimmerman's interview with police the next day, Zimmerman has a broken nose and that's cut and dry? Zimmerman is a raging racist, although he took a black girl to the prom in high school? Really?i know of a couple of guys who took girls to prom. That didnt mean they weren't gay Edited July 17, 201312 yr by Cheap21
July 17, 201312 yr Member Yep and that's how we can be sure that he'll pull an OJ and screw up again. Sadly, we'll just have to hope that the next person he hurts or kills is white because that's the only way he'll be held responsible for his actions. If he does unfortunately do something else, his supporters will be remarkably quiet. Character counts and Zimmerman's character is why his story was so unbelievable. Thank you! I don't think George hates black people he is just the product of a society that is on high alert when they see young black men that they think are up to no good. It's still not an excuse for the events that took place on February 26 but it is just the sad state of race relations and stereotypes in America. There can be a difference between hate and bias, Zimmerman is more about bias and paranoia, along with having a violent streak.
July 17, 201312 yr Author Member The Seminole County Sheriff's Office today released details of how jurors in the George Zimmerman case lived while they were sequestered during his trial for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The jury was originally sequestered on Friday, June 21 and spent 22 nights at the Marriott on International Parkway in Lake Mary, Fla. During the sequestration, jurors had individual rooms and convened regularly in a suite for meals and to socialize. Jurors watched television and movies, exercised at the hotel fitness center, and spent weekends being visited by family and friends. Jurors could also request visits from members of the religious community. Anyone visiting members of the jury was asked to sign an agreement indicating they would not discuss the case with the jury member or disclose any information to outside parties about the details of their visit. Jurors dined out twice: at Outback Steakhouse in Sanford and at Amigos in Altamonte Springs. Dinner was also brought in from Giovannis in Lake Mary. Lunches typically took place at the courthouse with lunch brought in from area restaurants. The group went out for lunch twice, both times to Senior Tequilas in Winter Springs. Jurors also enjoyed several evening and weekend excursions to include bowling, shopping at the Volusia Mall, a day and dinner in St. Augustine (to include a visit to the Ripleys Believe It or Not Museum), manicures and pedicures, and watching fireworks on the fourth of July. Jurors also went to the movies to see World War Z and The Lone Ranger. All movies viewed were preapproved by the court. Jurors were provided access to the hotels laundry service or could send laundry home with family members. Jurors were permitted to go to appointments for personal care if accompanied by deputies. All television, internet use, reading materials, mail, and phone calls were screened, monitored and logged by deputies to ensure jurors were not exposed to any trial information, or content related to the criminal justice system. Jurors were permitted to receive their cell phones once per day to check voicemails and make telephone calls in the presence of a deputy. Jurors paid for their own personal purchases and appointment costs. The Sheriffs Office paid for the movie and bowling excursions and the Ripleys admission. Although exact costs are not yet available, the hotel cost was approximately $1,000 daily, and meals were approximately $375 per day. The excursion expenses were approximately $350. In total, sequestrations costs were approximately $33,000. The Sheriffs Office is still compiling the agencys total costs associated with the trial. http://www.seminolesheriff.org/external/DailyReports.aspx?pageID=97 They were out having a ball during this murder trial. That's really sad. "spent weekends being visited by family and friends" This must be when juror b37 planned her book with her husband... Edited July 17, 201312 yr by Eric83

That's just peachy. I still suspect that B37 had contact with Frank Taaffe, because he seemed adamant when he told Nancy Grace that the jury was 5-1 and B37 has said something similar.
July 18, 201312 yr Member No. Because if your not outraged by a grown man - let alone one with proven anger issues and basically a trained fighter - going against 911/police direction and stalking a teenager for no reason other than his race and then murdering him then I'm not sure what can outrage you. GZ put these events into action. It was TM who needed to defend himself, not GZ. I can't say if GZ is racist or not. But his profiling and stalking of TM was def racially motivated. If this was a white boy who was wearing a hoodie would this have happened? If TM was white would the jury have found GZ not guilty? I think the answe to both is no. And that is the sad, tragic truth. I meant the media looking for ratings is what made this story go national, as opposed to being a local/regional story. If it was a white boy wearing sagging pants and a hoodie, and looking in people's windows in the rain, then I would have called the cops, too. If Trayvon had called 911, instead of that fat dullard Rachel, he'd be alive today.

Isnt that the hispanic one? She is the only juror that hasn't spoken out. Probably feeling guilty. I know I wouldn't have llet anyone get me to change my vote. I can see B-37 bullying her in the deliberation room. Edited July 18, 201312 yr by Eric83

B-37 has been so vocal and biased, I have no doubt that she put some pressure on the holdout.
July 18, 201312 yr Member Jimmy Carter says that the jury came to the correct verdict. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2013/07/17/george-zimmerman-trayvon-martin-jimmy-carter/2524809/ Jimmy Carter said one of the most important things in this interview, that the jurors listened to the EVIDENCE and not their feelings about race, like most of you are.
