I was on a missing episodes forum, reading through yet another false claim about finding lost episodes, and a few people were mentioning this story. I'm so out of the loop with Doctor Who these days it was new to me. The son of the man who wrote An Unearthly Child is not allowing the story to be shown on BBC iPlayer, and is claiming he will possibly sell the rights to someone who is anti-BBC. Among reasons given are being upset at casting of Ncuti Gatwa.

I know many newer fans are not interested in the old material anyway, which I can understand, much as I love it, but it's still sad to see formative material being taken away due to such rot.

@DRW50 This one's for you: Tales of the TARDIS. New shorts featuring classic companions and Doctors, written by RTD and co. (including one of the writers on those beloved Blu-Ray shorts with the classic cast). Yes, that is Jo with Clyde from SJA.

The notable absence of Tom makes me wonder if it's his health, his usual strangeness or if they have something else planned. (The absence of Carole Ann Ford also makes me think Susan is still going to appear in the anniversary episodes.) I never thought I'd see a Jamie/Zoe, Steven/Vicki or Peri/Six reunion in the 2020s.

The BBC iPlayer's main Who hub is now online (as shown above), and the Tales from the TARDIS are now being kindly uploaded to YT.

These kind uploads may be missing a small bit - I can't seem to find the line fans are talking about where Ace says she has a secret: 'the best is yet to come,' which many are taking as a hint to the Ace spinoff RTD has long wanted to do. But who knows.

I'm hearing lovely things about the Five/Tegan and Steven/Vicki short.

    • Wow. This show is ridiculous.
    • There's a 1997 promo somewhere of Annie vs. Reva which ends with Reva throwing her purse. IIRC, from what soap magazines at the time said, that was not an actual scene but was (allegedly) a real confrontation which somehow got into a promo.  I do wish Wheeler had moved faster - maybe that was as fast as she could go, or maybe she took for granted that they would stay on. I know the show probably couldn't have improved drastically, but I do wish they'd had one year, and Irna's babies could have ended at the same time.  I have already spent enough years comparing the GL and ATWT finales, but I agree. As someone who quit watching GL in disgust around the early/mid '00s the show did remind of its old self at the end. ATWT's ending was an extended Goutman ego trip. One show had a poignant death of a character whose passing was long overdue...one slaughtered a vibrant young man so we could get James Rehborn (wonderful as he was) playing chess for homophobes.  The Grant Aleksander interview I posted a few weeks ago had him talking about learning GL was canceled because Ron Raines called him at Home Depot. He said they knew it was probably going to happen, but that believing something will happen and it actually happening are very different.
    • Thanks. I just hope this choice isn't why Billy is leaving, as they should have done all they could story-wise to make him want to stay.  Maybe he had already told them he was going. I hope so.
    • This is amazing. They didn’t even make it 6 months into Trump‘s term

    • This is where the timeline gets a little muddy. The Bo who was in Heaven, in Beyond Salem 2 knows that Caroline died. But in this alternate timeline, where Bo never actually died and was held in cryogenics by Megan, shouldn’t know about Caroline.  It does seem like the new writers don’t have much interest in her, or in the possible pairing with Chad.
    • Leslie's campiness has become irritating to me, not mesmerizing anymore.  It's getting repetitive, constantly plotting and flirting.  She's become a cartoon, sadly, and the actress is worth more than that. I want to fastforward through her, but now I watch to see her scene partners react.
    • Or get excited because they have less to memorize for the same check lol Sign me up for this!
    • Sounds about right. I hope they use a nickname for her as to not confuse everybody.
    • LOL - my mind was looking for a 'Cole' in Reva's long name, and of course that's the actor's name instead. I guess 7 unique husbands, and a couple she married twice, which gets her to 9?   Hahaha - true, could be. Hopefully/surely she somehow audited her beloved character's name before publishing.
