Looking back it's amazing that GH lasted so many years without some of the overused crap that has helped kill the genre, like serial killer stories and baby switches. That awful text message story was the end of the end I guess and then here we are now...

There was also a minor one in the Franco/Lucky/Elizabeth/Nikolas and Aiden. There was also an abduction story with Micheal, Morgan and Kristina when they were younger. GH has had a few.

a baby switch involves 2 women pregnant and a mother given the wrong child to raise. There was no switch in that storyline. None of those are baby switch stories

RC overused paternity result switcheroos on OLTL, but there was only one baby switch, which I thought was highly effective. GH has been overdoing it on kidnapped babies and paternity mix-ups (Liz had both of these tropes with Aidan), but I can't recall them doing a straight-up baby switch. When I heard "Days" was doing another baby switch in '09, I rolled my eyes because of Hope/Lexie happening in the same decade (and Jess/Starr on OLTL shortly after Kelly/Bianca/Babe) but it turned out to literally save the show and garner them acclaim for the first time in eons. A Sam/Tea swap does NOT sound like it's going to give GH the jolt it needs, but that's what I thought about Sami/Nicole/Mia . . .

It's our saviors Cartini once again ripping off their OLTL stories, which weren't good in the first place. Heather is a hybrid of Marty and Bess. Viewers barely even know Tea and have little reason to like her, and she's going to be at the center of some big baby switch plotline? For all the talk of how interesting Sam supposedly is now that McMouthBreather is pawing at her, she still seems like the same victim in stupid plot point stories.

I do want to save soaps and I don't believe the genre has to die, but nothing on this show or with this team has been close to soap opera for years.

Why on earth would a GH viewer give a crap about Tea's baby? For all most know she's a new character.

Ron is completely out of ideas. It's a shame he keeps earning a paycheck for cranking out the same tired garbage. It's a bigger shame that the soap "press" keeps giving them a pass. The same press that will whine and cry to the high heavens when GH gets canceled.

Not to mention they still have the Victor is alive ball hanging in the air, why not fix that before adding more on top of Tea.
