“Infamous” — When wealthy socialite and notorious party girl Vivian Bowers is found dead of an overdose, no one is really surprised. The heiress to the Bowers pharmaceutical empire has been tabloid fodder for years: wild, pretty, privileged… and now dead at the age of 32. But for FBI agent Will Moreno (Laz Alonso, “Avatar”), things don’t add up with this suspicious dynasty. Convinced that the troubled girl’s death was a homicide, he has a clever plan to get to the truth. Her name is Detective Joanna Locasto (Meagan Good, “Think Like a Man”). Twenty years ago, she was Vivian’s best friend, having grown up in the Bowers’ home as daughter of the family housekeeper. And when she appears at Vivian’s funeral, the family re-embraces her and no one is the wiser. Joanna quickly begins to uncover dark secrets and clues about why Vivian’s life was very much in danger. At the same time, she rekindles an old romantic relationship and rediscovers the allure of the luxurious lifestyle she once knew. She’s about to see once again just how the other half lives… and dies. Also starring are Victor Garber (“Alias”), Tate Donovan (“Damages”), Katherine La Nasa (“Alfie”), Neil Jackson (“Quantum of Solace”) and Ella Rae Peck (“Gossip Girl”). “Infamous” comes from executive producer/writer Liz Heldens (“Friday Night Lights”) and director Peter Horton (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Dirty Sexy Money”). Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein are also executive producers. The series is from Universal Television and BermanBraun.

The pilot is on NBC, IMDB, Hulu, etc. It is pretty good. I liked it a lot. It set up the several mysteries nicely. I am looking forward to watching them play out. Hopefully, it does well in the ratings.

Meagan does a good job and she works well with both of her love interests, although her character, Joanna promises it be especially steamy with hottie Julian. Oh, Meagan looks gorgeous. I had forgotten how goodlooking she is. I also like that she looks like a normal size woman (for tv) although she is probably size 4.

Bree Williamson plays the dead Vivian. The best acting that she has ever done is play that corpse. LOL!

I liked it too. I was coming into the Primetime section thinking I might open a post asking for everyone's opinion on the sneak preview of the pilot. You guys think of everything!happy.png

I remember a few months ago, Scott Bryce tweeted that he was going to be on an episode of Deception-- wondering whether that will air.

When they had that scene where after learning that her childhood friend is dead, Meagan Good's character goes into the bathroom and runs the faucet before letting her emotions go-- I knew I was going to like this show! For some reason I really dig those reserved characters and it is refreshing to see a female, a Black female character who is reserved emotionally, cool in an almost icy manner. That one scene (rather than the one where she's chasing down a perp) told me that this character is effective at what she does. I hope the writers/producers maintain that part of her character no matter what changes the storyline dictates.

Good to know that Scott be on the show. John Larroquette also has a major recurring role. I am not sure how many episodes there will be in this first season, maybe 10 to 13. I hope the ratings are solid. We'll have to see. Serial soapy primetime dramas need stuff to happen to keep people hooked.

Meagan does a good job as the lead. Beside it isn't like tv is chock full of talented leading actresses, most of them are average at best. I much rather a young African American actress get a shot as a lead for once rather the usual bland mediocre white actress.

I agree with you about that scene. Nothing irks me more than the overacting and over the top drama that some of these lead actresses subject us to. I also loved the scene where Joanna is watching the sex tape and reacts with annoyance by saying, "come on, Vivian." It was a real reaction of a friend to watching another friend do something stupid.

Church. But I'm biased since I've been a fan of hers since she was on Cousin Skeeter and is one of the most down to earth celebs you can ever meet so I'm really happy for her and this opportunity she has. She did a really good job and I am so damn happy Laz is back on my screen (after what Breakout Kings did to his character, ugh). My mom will be happy too since she has a love jones for him.

Tate Donovan had me weak with the dinner scene and so did the one character that just kept laughing. I couldn't hold it in because they were just horrible and she was sitting right there!

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
