GL:

Why was Peter Simon revered so much as being "the" Ed Bauer? Viewers from back in the day liked Mark Hulswit, plus they brought back Robert Gentry (Ed in the 1960's) in 1997-1998 but that completely fizzled and he was barely seen (granted, he's not exactly the most captivating performer). But with Peter Simon's diva 'tude about always needing to have major driving storyline, couldn't fans accept a new Ed?

I think Peter was mostly known as being the main Ed in the years GL reinvented itself to the whole Reva, Quint/Nola, etc. era, so that made him more identified. I think they could have recast successfully but likely didn't care about making the effort.

Ellen Wheeler was too lazy to recast Ed for that ridiculous Sebastian story in 2004 hoping Simon would come back; I don't blame him that he didn't or that he was unhappy with Weston's writing earlier that year.

Why didn't Diana Barton last longer on Y&R?

These are good questions! I got several:

Y&R: Why was Davetta Sherwood out as Lily? I swore Victoria Rowell loved her as Lily. Did she leave on her own or did CK become available?

Did William Bell have people to take over the show should his death/retirement happen? If so, why did/do we have hacks (LML and his daughter-in-law) taking over the show now? Is that Sony/CBS' fault?

Passions: Why was Danica Stewart even hired as Jessica Bennett on Passions when she was laughed off of GH as Maxie (bascially the Charity Ramher of GH at the time)? Couldn't they have casted somebody better because the poor thing couldn't handle the material of Prostitute Jessica.

I am friends with Jade Harlow and she told me that she left on her own so I know that she wasn't fired.

Why did they hire a 35 year old looking lady as Paloma on the DirecTV episodes? Paloma looked like she was early 20's when the other actress played her. I don't think they aged her but she looked too old for the part.

Actually the real question should be who was the casting director on Passions? BamBam?

And one last thing from Passions: how much of the scripts had to be changed after Josh Ryan Evan's died?

Passions and Days (probably will never get a clear answer): How did James E. Riley juggle being the head writer of both Days and Passions? Was this ever done before on Daytime TV?

Loving: Why did Douglas Marland remove his name from Loving? He was credited as Co-Creator for about a year or two then his name vanished from the credits.

AMC: Did we ever see Kendall's adoptive parents?

How long was Eric Kane on the show and what happened to make the character leave? I know he appeared on the opening credits.

Was there a mention of Erica's half-sister, Silver, after her initial run?

What happened to Trey Kenyon?

ATWT: How long was Matthew Morrison (Glee) on ATWT as Adam Munson?

What happened to Nikki Munson when the miscasted actress left?

What happened to Danielle Andropolous? Didn't she come back briefly?

Who's bright idea was it to make Amber Moore and Alison Stewart porn stars?

I think I am done. biggrin.png

Trey went to prison for arson, and was never mentioned again.

In 1987, Erica learned she actually did have a real sister named Silver. Silver was being victimized, and Jeremy Hunter saved her. When she realized Jeremy loved Natalie, she began faking her own harassment to keep Jeremy. She became unhinged and Natalie had to kill her in self-defense. This led to Palmer blackmailing Natalie and hiding Silver's body.

Timmy was supposed to be resurrected. Since Josh Ryan Evans died, they kept Timmy as dead.

Henry Slesar head-wrote both EON and Somerset in the mid-70's. Robert Cenedella wrote AW and Somerset in the early 70's.

I don't know about Kendall's father, but her mother Alice was shown when Kendall learned her father was dead. You can see her on Youtube in one of SMG's final episodes.

Eric Kane returned for about a year or less. He backstabbed Erica by selling his shares in Enchantment to Natalie.

Doug Marland's contract was up and he had no interest in staying with Loving.
