I agree with you. Say Something was all right, but it didn't hit the spot complete. Magic though...mmmmm YES. I got tears of joy and excitement (and it released at the right time for me) to fall into it completely. It reminded me of Cher and BELIEVE and STRONG ENOUGH. From the moment I heard SE, it resonated and I wanted a video for it sooo bad. Though I liked BELIEVE and the video was tops with me, SE was the fave off that cd. And at 2am one morning, VH1 dropped it as I was about to go to bed...and I went to the club that weekend to dance. It was that simple.

That's how I feel about Magic. The headpieces. How beautiful she looked. The slinky/sexy vibe you mentioned. The dancers posing at the end.

LOVE.

Haven't gotten my cd yet. But listening to the album anyway. lol.

Favorites (so far):

Magic (of course)

Miss a Thing (that sample)

Supernova

Real Groove

Spotlight

Last Chance (just heard it today and I know it will be on repeat)

Celebrate You

Growers (don't dislike them and knowing me it just takes a moment for me to fall in love with it)

Say Something

Unstoppable

Monday Blues (vibing to it actually)

I Love It (same as MB)

Dance Floor Darling (I don't know why, great beat...but hasn't hooked me yet)

Meh

Where Does the DJ Go (funny that is here since I'm such a dj ho...lol)

Regardless of how that looks above, the album itself has such a great vibe and flow to it. If I didn't need to focus a bit today, I would be up dancing. lol. So easily one of her favorites for me.

    • I wonder if Falcon Crest wasn't seen as macho enough for them.  I first saw Dynasty on FX around 1994 or 1995. I think it ran for a few years, although I may be off as I moved and lost the channel for a while.
    • -- The fact that we know the mess that Billy made when he renovated the Chancellor place makes his entire sadsack attitude pathetic. I wanted someone to smack the hell out of him. -- And why did Diane care so much about Billy's opinion beyond hearing he liked it better before? Why continue pressing him on it? Josh Griffith clearly thinks this is a storyline, and it isn't. It never was. -- So Mariah cheated on Tessa offscreen. OF COURSE it was offscreen. Then we got this ridiculous, convoluted explanation of why she cheated, ending in her announcement that she doesn't have any character at all. GMAFB.  -- Now we'll get the cliche garbage of Mariah confessing to Tessa, who turns to Daniel for sex even though she's a lesbian. (Please spare me the comment that Tessa is bi.) -- The excuse for Summer leaving town? Also pathetic. Why in the hell would she have to leave town to find a new creative director for Marchetti?
    • I vaguely recall it surfaced on either TNT or TBS around 1993 or so but I could be wrong about the channel. By 1997 when this article was written Knots was still airing on TNT, Dallas was on the old TNN network (which today is Paramount), and Dynasty was on…well I don’t even recall now but feel like it was either E!  or Bravo. TNN ran Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas together in the evenings for years surprised they didn’t just pick up FC to resurrect the trifecta.
    • I think you're thinking of the dress she wore on April 15 from her Ebony cover shoot when Andre had to put her in bed.
    • @Maximthank you for such a thoughtful reply. I have printed it out so I have it with me as I watch most of the soap clips on the YT app on my TV. I've always wanted to get into Edge of Night, but I didn't no where to start.
    • Laugh-In was also before my time, but I loved watching her when Nick at Nite and TV Land ran repeats. She was also on Sesame Street for years. So vibrant. One of those people I've never heard bad word of. Sorry to hear that.
    • Amazing resource. Thank you! I'm pretty confident that she's worn it before. I'll look into it. That or I'm having some serious deja vu.
    • Other than Soapnet I am trying to remember if I ever even saw it in syndication. I know I saw Dallas, Knots and Dynasty in syndication before Soapnet.
