April 14, 201213 yr Member In other news... I think it was really nice of Mercedes to let Carly visit with Josslyn for a few minutes on Friday's show. When I saw Joss show up, I thought I dont know why they didnt just write the baby off with Jax. Its not like Carly would have missed her
April 14, 201213 yr Member They should have never brought the character back. I don't understand the point. She was already useless when Ward last played her anyway. This, I've been saying it for months. I hadnt even noticed when MW left for good. Me neither. I know Kate was referred to a lot off camera, but I don't ever recall feeling "Wow... where is Kate? When's the last time Kate's been on?" Then it was announced the recast was in place and I was just like "Um... why?" However, I think they wanted to give Sonny a woman after Brenda left because, of course, Sonny can't survive without having a woman to put his baby maker baton in for more than two weeks at a stretch. So, I think it was just a lazy attempt at giving Maurice a new partner without having to create a new character.

Im surprised those two hent been paired up after so many years on the show bc it seemed like an obvious route after she was casted and Kate was pushed aside Shock value aside, what was the point of Kate announcing that she was Connie Falconeri on the witness stand? She hates that name and identiy and flips out whenever anyone refers to her as that. Especially with her knowing that she has an alter that goes by Connie thats doing freaky things w/o her knowledge, her using that name now seems odd. The only way it would make sense would be if Connie had taken over but that didnt appear to be the case in court Edited April 14, 201213 yr by Cheap21

Yep instead of taking the time for Sonny to question why he always needs a woman to lean on because it really does go back to his mama who always needed a man to lean on. For the many times we've gone back to BH I have yet to see his issues stemming from his mother ever addressed.
April 14, 201213 yr Member Y'all didn't tell me Luke mentioned Bobbie on Thursday! I dont think anyone noticed
April 14, 201213 yr Member Oh, SHUT THE HELL UP! This is getting tired, this martyr complex you seem to have when it comes to OLTL and FV/RC vs. GH and Guza/JFP. Here's a newsflash... People who actually WATCHED General Hospital the last 9 years Guza and Phelps were in control were NOT giving praise to the writing and acting. There have been NUMEROUS complaints about the lack of respect given to the true actors on this show and the true veteran characters of this show. There have been NUMEROUS complaints about Guza's "hack" writing. There have been NUMEROUS complaints about JFP's heartless treatment of actors and characters of a certain age and/or era. Nobody is giving anybody from the OLTL transplant camp any less or more grief than they gave the failures from GH's permanent camp. THE FACT IS Starr Manning and all of her tearless crying and drama haven't added anything more to this show. THE FACT IS Frank and Ron haven't performed magical wonders and restored this show to its former luster. THE FACT IS Frank and Ron are incorporating every single aspect they'd brought to One Life to Live to General Hospital -- and fans of General Hospital who didn't like/watch OLTL are noticing that and are complaining based on the concept that this show is NOT the General Hospital they know and is turning into a show that they didn't watch for a reason. There is no "bandwagon." Nobody's "hating" on FV/RC GH and their OLTL transplants because it's the trendy thing to do. It's based on the fact that the GH audience was sold a bill of goods and are not seeing the show being treated with respect -- especially during these waning 18 months left (thanks to the alleged reprieve). When they were told Anna Devane was coming back, they didn't expect her to basically NOT GRIEVE for her dead child. When they were told Robert Scorpio was coming back, they didn't expect him to ditch his dead daughter's funeral. When they were told Holly Scorpio was coming back, they didn't expect her to stand in one spot for a week's worth of shows. When they were told that Carlivati knew GH's history, they didn't expect him to write Luke and Anna as best friends when they barely know each other, nor did they expect that Mac would suddenly be referred to as Maxie's uncle -- repeatedly -- when he's actually her stepfather and ONLY father she's really known and referred to him as such for YEARS! So, please! Get off the cross! Please accept the fact that GH fans DO have reason to complain and be disgruntled over the OLTL transplants (character and production wise) and their lack of consideration to WHAT this show is! Hopefully, RC/FV will get their act together over the next 17 months... however, until then, people have legitimate reasons to be dissatisfied with these people running this show. Love this post.
April 14, 201213 yr Member RSinclair, I agree...I was happy for Carlintini to come to GH ... I never thought like some they are the rock stars of soaps...but I believed they cared a lot about this genre of storytelling so that was a one up on Guza who I never got that impression. But starting off straightaway with the OLTL crossover without at least tackling GH is my major complaint. its not a bad concept to crossover but personally? I think this will be more about OLTL down the pike...the crossover characters will not stop; Tea isn't the last. I was surprised discovering there are a lot of GH fans who did not watch OLTL (like me) & vice versa. The ones I'm coming across are not that enthused re: the crossover but are still watching the show. The thing that's odd is he was or is a director and still directs some of the show or he did at OLTL. I just find it odd that the direction since he took over has gone to [!@#$%^&*] but that probably speaks more to the fact that while GH was lousy under phelps, the direction always seemed to be spot on. I don't think All of tv is about saving money. There is still a lot of quality scripted programming on cable and network tv and even much of the reality stuff like AI, Survivor, the Amazing Race doesn't come across cheap and sloppy looking or directed. That's why I laugh about moving GH to primetime. He edits too he tweeted a couple of weeks ago that he just spent 10 hours editing & I tweeted back I didn't know you edited too I have to check to see if he replied sometimes he does. For the many times we've gone back to BH I have yet to see his issues stemming from his mother ever addressed. We got lots of Sonny mommy issues back when Ric first came to town before they redeemed Ric a/k/a turned him into an excruciating bore by pairing him with another excruciating bore, Alexis. I would like to be able to erase from my memory the scenes where Sonny and Ric were in Martha's Vineyard when Sonny threw Ric down the stairs repeatedly. Ric was nothing but Sonny's mommy issues. So was Mike Corbin, for that matter. Lieutenant Taggert sometimes entertained us with Sonny's mommy issues. Even though Sonny never did a damn thing to rid himself of those issues except get drunk and throw barware, we spent a ton of time watching him go through them. I think we were supposed to be seeing the human side of Sonny instead of the monster. Sonny will always have the ghost of Karen Wexler looming over his shoulder no matter what they do with him.

Karen, she died via car accident on PC didn't she? Don't you mean Lily and the baby? They didnt really address it under Ric just used it as an excuse for Ric to be mad at Sonny. I'm talking about instead of Deke flashbacks al lthe time, finally having Sonny sit down, realize his mother wasn't a siant and couldn't stand on her own two feet and that he's just like her in that aspect.
April 14, 201213 yr Member Karen may have died on PC, but on GH she was a teen, the daughter of Scott Baldwin, when Sonny got her hooked on drugs and got her to strip in his club. That was before they decided to put a coat of polish on Sonny and make him all shiny and new.

I do not think the Baldwins appeared on GH to mourne her. By this time, GH and PC were so far removed in terms of continuity. With cancellation of PC an innevitablity, Karen would have fit back in the GH canvas well for being pretty far removed from the supernatural stories. It would also have given the character of Scotty more viability and dramatic foil to his destructive streak. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YH9MaZif5ds" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Edited April 14, 201213 yr by AMCHistory
