I don't think it was that bad either. It definitely wasn't my favorite, but I preferred it to the last 2 seasons.

You know it's funny because the first "into the future" episode I thought of when you mentioned this was "Dream Marriage," but that's when Mrs. G was still on the show. It's fun to watch it now because you get to see what they thought the future would be like and how close (or far off) they were. I liked the episode you mentioned too. Jo had the best old woman costume in my opinion in "Golden Oldies."

There's an early ep when the Drummonds are visiting and as the closing producer/writer credits flash, Gary Coleman knocks over a huge thing of punch, or at least several cups and he does that thing where you jump back with your lower body so it doesn't spill all over on you. He kind of sheepishly looks around to the folks off-stage.

YES! "Dope"! That's the final episode of season one. Helen Hunt was in that one--she was so young! It's funnier knowing she was in that CBS Schoolbreak Special Desperate Lives a few years later, diving out a school window while high (while Tricia Cast is gleefully driving over a cliff laugh.png ).

Speaking of which, The Wonder Years isn't being bumped off, is it? I hope not sad.png .

I always thought there was something a little dirty and weird about that John Lawlor character...not helped by the episode where Blair was in love with him.

How I miss the days of bizarrely reacting studio audiences. Why are they applauding Sue Ann getting high? Did they get lost on their way to a Dead show?

laugh.png That's my theory, too. LOVE those sketches. I want a cute little gray cat like that someday.

Anyone else remember these FOL promos on Nick at Nite? I LOVED these.

I especially love Blair's line: "Poverty is no fun." Words to live by.

I don't think this show should have ever "gone away." I mean shows like brady Bunch and Cheers have been on "a station" in reruns for decades. Especially now with 500 channels you'd think they should have been on all along. If Nick didn't want them, they should have gone to maybe Lifetime or one of those. lets hope it has a long "life" on The Hub.

Yea, I'm semi-sad that Family Ties is going off. When i first found this station, I DVR's Family Ties every day to see all the episodes. it was great fun. I might catch Sabrina because i used to watch it all the time on "TGIF" ABC during it's original run.

just saw that first episode and i still don't understand that they had Cindy the Tomboy (with Blair hinting at Cindy being a lesbian) but then they got rid of her and brought on Jo a tomboy. I know Jo was more rough from the bronx who didn't care what she said to people most of the time but they could have done something like that with Cindy. They fired one girl and then hired someone else to play bascially the same type character with a different background. No sense. Although i think Nancy Mckeon turned into a better looking woman than Julie Haddock. Right from the season where she curled her hair, after having it all twisted togethr for the first few seasons.

    • A really good show to start the week. Philip is really going to shoot himself in the foot, isn't he? He should just be grateful he still is co CEO on paper, but instead he is trying to insert himself into the Hospital takeover. I worry he is going to mess up the whole thing and Xander won't get it, and Bo won't get the cure. Eventually Xander will have to fire him. Alex and Brady were both great today shutting him down. Amused me that nobody has bothered to clue Brady in on the forged letter fiasco. Kristen and Brady discussing their messed up child was very good. I liked that Kristen finally acknowledged her culpability in what Rachel has become. And her interactions with Alex were good too. Alex is strangly working for me these days. Apart from his obsession with Stephanie's soft core porn book of course. I'm in love with Doug3 and Holly. That is all.

Glad that Johnny and Chanel have worked things out. They do communicate well. I think he will be the next arrest in the shooting though. Kate and Roman's discussion would have been better if she had been honest about her recent involvement in corporate fraud, but glad he explained about the gun. Why does Alex have a CEO plaque on his desk? That was SO last year

This news definitely made my day!!! So happy for MVJ, the cast and crew, and all it's faithful fans.
    • Despite having never watched Ryan's Hope, I read Tom Lisanti's book recently as I'm fascinated by behind the scenes stories of soap production. A really enjoyable read, which gave a good sense of the show and New York at that time.  I have to say though, that the vitriol regarding the quality (or lack thereof) of Loving only makes me want to watch that show even more! (It's on my list anyway as I've never seen The Loving Murders).

    • I think it's funny that Philip is walking around in today's episode thinking it is wrong that people are still mad at him for stealing half of Xander's inheritance.  While Alex struggles to finish reading a manuscript in under 118 hours, Philip was like, “hey, help me out with Xander, let's be cool, and forget that I basically blackmailed you and your girlfriend to lie that I was cucking you.” This is truly a Monday miracle, because I enjoyed the Kristin and Brady scene.  It is completely un-Kristin-like to have any insight into her behavior, but I appreciated the attempt.   We're so far from Kristin-social-worker that we met back in the 90s, but it was a clever callback to show that she's still in there somewhere.  Kristin has become such a loon, it felt like she was being humanized. Finally, I found solace in the fact that I've gone my entire life without having a job where my boss needs to tell me where they keep the gun, -- on the first day of training. (I guess Salem does have an unusually high murder rate for such a small population?)

    • CBS should consider reviving an old soap opera for the 3 PM time slot.   The EDGE OF NIGHT.....
    • Why is Liam/SC still in the 7 Dwarves hat?  They cut his head wide open?  Our President only had to wear a maxi pad for 2 weeks and he had a paper cut on his ear.  That musta been some bump on the head?     I happened to see Liam talking to Bill today.  Man DD is terrible.
