February 13, 201213 yr Member The Tony Bennett duets are always the same. He croons, and his partner sings to him like he's a toddler.
February 13, 201213 yr Author Member The Tony Bennett duets are always the same. He croons, and his partner sings to him like he's a toddler. Ha...I thought it was rather boring.....who the hell were all the nominees for best new artist....didnt know any of them except for one...
February 13, 201213 yr Member Country music pwns all other music, it's NOT all about flash, special effects & whatnot, but about the music itself It can be a litte repetitive though. To me, a lot of the newer stuff all sounds the same.
February 13, 201213 yr Member It can be a litte repetitive though. To me, a lot of the newer stuff all sounds the same. It's become about generic blondes (the only time one of them does something interesting is when Miranda Lambert embarrasses herself on Twitter) and homely men singing about Jesus. February 13, 201213 yr Member Today's country music is annoying, superficial, and repetitive indeed. Jesus, Amurka, grandpa loved grandma, I drinks my beers, I shoots my guns, and I molests the girl next door.
February 13, 201213 yr Member I like JHud, but I think Mariah should have sung this I didn't know she could sing now.
February 13, 201213 yr Member I am so glad Jennifer was able to get through that. When Whitney's face and name came up it just really it me, I could hardly believe my eyes.
February 13, 201213 yr Member I don't think Mariah would have had it in her to sing. J.Hud was a good choice...someone who is of the same style but not too closely connected that it would be too emotional for her to perform.
February 13, 201213 yr Member I'm not a big Jennifer Hudson fan....but Bravo! She kept it classy and I felt more involved knowing she had a close relationship with Whitney herself. Mariah would have been pushing her boobs out in front of everyone and carrying on over-the-top to try and make it all about her. Mariah...no class. J-Hud...WELL DONE!
February 13, 201213 yr Author Member The Grammys would have been much better had it been mostly song tributes to Whitney. This has to be the most boring Emmys ever!
February 13, 201213 yr Member Wait a second. Where were Etta James and Don Cornelius in the memoriam? How do these awards shows keep managing to leave out integral people!? Off the top of my head, they also didn't have Vesta Williams and Bobby Hebb. Edited February 13, 201213 yr by All My Shadows
February 13, 201213 yr Member Hudson performed the song for Houston at BET Honors, so it was fitting that she sang it in tribute at this time. Can't wait to see the performance here on the West Coast.
February 13, 201213 yr Member At the beginning of the show, Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt did a vocal tribute to Etta James. She wasn't forgotten. I think with Whitney dying last night trying to do more for her would be logistically difficult.
