Since we're discussing incendiary headlines, how about how Bryton was credited by TMZ?

Appropriate, considering most of the world knows him more from Family Matters over The Young and the Restless, truthfully.

William Russ (AW, Y&R) and Bonnie Bartlett (Love of Life), along with various other Boy Meets World cast members, showed up on DWTS to support Danielle Fishel.

I still hate how William Russ was dismissed from Y&R (as the original Tucker) for Stephen Nichols.  I think he would've done so much more with that role than either Nichols or Trevor St. John could.

Pretty sure it was because Eric Braeden agreed to return to Victor, and Russ' Tucker was too close to that Victor-type role.

Braeden left the show?

also they couldn’t just write Tucker differently?

He never even had much of a chance. I guess at least he was spared MAB's pen. But I saw how good he was in that type of role on Wiseguy.

Seeing William Russ again reminds me of how extremely jarring it was to see him in American History X. I was too young to see or hear much about in 1998, so my mind was blown when we watched it in a college class about a decade later. I want to know more about that particular bit of casting, like if they always wanted an actor from a family sitcom, if ABC and/or Disney wasn't happy about it, or if Russ was intentionally trying to avoid typecasting (a year after X, he played Danny Bonaduce's abusively dismissive father in the TV movie about the making of The Partridge Family).

Tika Sumpter (ex-Layla, OLTL) will guest-star in the season finale of CBS' Watson. (x)

Tika Sumpter (Layla Williamson, OLTL)  is now a series regular starting in season two of "Watson".  In the season one finale, she met Watson during a case and they flirted.
In the season two opener, we learn they have been dating for two months. She is now a series regular.  She plays pediatric oncologist Dr. Laila Bynum.
(from Layla-OLTL to Laila-Watson) !

It's funny how Sherlock Holmes has inspired various writers over the years to write "spinoff" stories involving Watson, Moriarty and (I think) even Inspector Lestrade.  I mean, who's next?  Does Mrs. Hudson get her own series of stories as well, lol?

Oh, really?? I was wondering about her a few weeks ago. Such a wasted talent at times on OLTL, but she's been so booked and busy since. Good to hear.

Well, Braeden and the show were dealing with his contract negotiation if I remember correctly. It was during the start of big soap actors/actresses taking pay cuts and how it was a big deal. The casting for Tucker was an intimidation tactic that just fell flat in the end though it gave good story for a while IMHO.

They really could have. Genoa City has plenty of room for more than two rich men.

We're getting more now due to the public domain. That's how we got Watson, and also some "Sherlock and daughter" show on the CW. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Mrs. Hudson got a show. Makes more sense than repeatedly trying to revive Murder She Wrote...

Thank you for reminding me. I heard good things about that, but felt out from the CW once they left the superhero realm.

I've seen some very positive fan reviews too. I know that can be meaningless but some of the people I've seen them from are happy to tear apart a project they don't care for.
