Members DaytimeFan
SCRUFFY VOICE?! Tom Eplin of Another World had a scruffy voice. Patrick Muldoon sounds like a drag queen who isn't quite holding the act together. Austin Peck would be such an upgrade, Austin is a role that won't win anyone an Emmy, he might as well look the part. They've airbrushed the living hell out of Patrick Muldoon's face. And notice how, even with wet hair, he's slicked those bangs down in a vain attempt to cover his massively receding hairline. He's just all kinds of ick and he needs to get off my screen. Exactly, these storylines are all pointless.

Members Soapsuds
Patrick Muldoon looks like hell for being only 43. I dont know what happen to his face but he looks older than his age. I prefer him over Peck but I was so use to seeing Peck in the role that it is jarring seeing him back. Muldoon is the better actor but not by much. Who has the bigger boobs...Peck of course....lol
Members DaytimeFan
I'll take a wide eyed, hammy acting, goofball performance from Peck over Muldoon's shrieks, whispers, bangs and sun damage any day of the week. I can tell you what happened to Patrick Muldoon: sun damage. He's a thin, Caucasian male in his 40s who baked his face and body in the sun for years and THIS is what the result is. His skin is in vile, vile, shape. As well, he's lost fat in his face (happens to everyone as they age) and the features that once looked good (eyes, nose, jawline) now resemble a bird, he's got a bit of a Michael Muhney look going on. Finally, he's losing his hair and he's trying to cover it with bangs and it just looks like he mugged Liza Minelli and stole one of her wigs (Google them, it's the same haircut!). Muldoon's boyish looks have faded with time and now he's a 43 year old man and he looks all the worse for it. Austin Peck improved by leaps and bounds at ATWT, he needs goofball writing, but he can be tolerable and sometimes fun to watch. Muldoon was in the role for 3 years, Peck was there for 8, it IS jarring to devolve Austin visually. I'd hardly say Peck has "boobs"...the dude works out, he's pecktacular, I only wish my hours in the gym paid off like that!
Members JaneAusten
Days has never been a show known for great acting talent so I am not sure what value PM adds to the show anyway. I think Carrie and Austin up to this point have proven to be pretty useless and I still think Belle and Shawn should have come back mostly to shore up a non existant 20 something group. But for what Austin does on this show, hes not a complex character, AP would be just fine. He's to me anyway the real Austin anyway. I barely remember Muldoon in the role. Members JackPeyton
I thought it worked because Victor pointed it out. hes rich, he has a staff, he doesnt do this. maggie countered with *I* do, and i want a memory of us doing this together. He loves her, so he did it. It was sweet. Plus, he is still keeping the secret that he knew more than he has told her about the daniel story. he is far from whitewashed and a nice, loving old man. Members quartermainefan
The thing is she will never do something because he likes doing it. The show is pretty clear on this. Maggie decides what is right and Victor must adjust his behavior to seek her approval. You're right, it was sweet. The thing is is Victor Kiriakis supposed to be sweet? Is that the best use for that character? They basically have him now as the grumpy but lovable teddy bear who seeks her approval.
Members DRW50
I think Muldoon probably played Austin when Austin was most popular/viable - Peck was mostly just a prop who stood around mouthbreathing. It's telling that he only seemed to become popular after he left the role and got to do his patented screaming/mugging act on ATWT and OLTL. But the whole nostalgia casting with Muldoon is silly when the actor clearly isn't going to bring what he brought the first time around. I would have rather seen Carrie on her own, or Mike and Carrie.

Members JackPeyton
She lives in the Mansion for him. Is she going to approve putting a hit out on somebody? No. And she never should. And yes, Victor can and should be sweet. All pure sweet? No, never. But again, he is still Victor. He is still holding secrets and still running shady buisness', I will gladly take this over the cartoon tycoon chasing a 23 year old girl around and making her be is wife anyday. Like Stefano and Kate, he is a human again, with different sides.
Members quartermainefan
I disagree here. Victor isn't Lou Grant, and that is basically what Maggie makes him. I am tiring of Stefano and Kate to be honest. All the humanizing of Stefano has accomplished is making him a character who cannot star in stories, eats at Bradys and presumably pals around with Caroline off camera, and he has reached the point where he is not needed on the show. Kate at least has Madison to fall back on. I'll take cartoon Stefano unleashing hallucination gas at the hospital with everyone trapped inside any day. Administrator Toups Posted November 25, 2011 Administrator Share Posted November 25, 2011 Word. What so fun about humanized-Stefano? Cartoon Stefano rocks - Stefano in the 90's was so fun to watch. I wish I gotten a chance to see his 80's crazy stories.
Members darraholic
I'm rewatching the Letter storyline and miss that Stefano sooooooooooooo much. Stefano isn't Stefano unless he's plotting to kidnap his Queen of the Night. Plus, I'd love to see Jealous Kate react to Stefano;s feelings for Marlena. Kate & Marlena could be a great rivalry. Administrator Toups Posted November 25, 2011 Administrator Share Posted November 25, 2011 You're rewatching The Letter too? I'm on part 44. Kristen is slowly turning evil (I added the spoiler tag just case you're not there yet.) - I don't remember how Stefano eventually got Marlena, so I'm excited to see how it happened. (don't tell me LOL) And I can't wait until I get to Lady in a Cage!
Members DRW50
I'm not sure if a Queen of the Night story would work with these actors in 2011. I think it makes sense for Stefano to change as a character, although the way they've changed him hasn't quite worked.
