The funny thing is that in 1974 AMC was doing pretty much nothing like what was in the parody. (aside from the one back from the dead story, with Phil).

That's a fair point as I remember loving Phil and Tara's Vietnam story. I'd add Erica's infamous cutting edge abortion story but alas McTrash made a mockery of that.

Btw, why didn't Tara return for the finale? I really expected her and even Donna back. Did I miss their returns?

No, you didn't miss them. I think a lot of Martins just fell into limbo and the show never brought them back. Donna they may have felt had no ties to anyone left, or they weren't interested. There were a number of people I was hoping to see, like Mark. I guess with the budget and compressed time there wasn't much they could do.

Digesting this episode, the strongest part was Erica I think. Her final scenes were really strong and soapy and true to her character. The rest I think was done a disservice by the superfast editing combined with one measly day to tell the story. The Adam and Stuart scene yesterday was 20 seconds long, today's Stuart and Marian scene even shorter. Adam and Dixie got ten seconds more or less. There was just no time to let scenes develop so we could soak in some real history. Stuart never even got home to his own party. It was a cliff notes ending, and while I loved the sentiment behind the notes, I wish we had gotten actual stories in the scenes instead of headlines.

I just deleted AMC from my DVR schedule sad.png

I did that yesterday. It's going to be tough to get through this first week without AMC.

I also love your wallpaper, Cheap!

Just watched the SNL skit and didn't find it funny at all.

This is why I abhor SNL's weekly writing process. If they hadn't been hopped up on cocaine coffee at three a.m., they would have come up with better jokes.

I saw Joe and a new Ruth but no Tara or Jeff is a big mistake, IMO. At least we saw Brooke and Adam.

I was never a Jackson and Erica fan and wish they hadn't trashed her and David. THAT pairing was so good b/c he called her on her ISH all the time.

Mark would have been good. I about cried at pictures of NICK though.

thats not a new Ruth. She's been playing the role off and on for the last 15 years. She was last on this spring for Tad's wedding
