DOOL: Fall Preview!

It's John. He's the one beating up all the hookers (my guess). This is what all those years as "the Pawn," "Romulus," "Roman Brady," "Father John," and all his other aliases have covered up. Either that, or it's part of Stefano's plot to ruin him and have Marlena all to himself.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Years of identity after identity would mess you up.

This could be why TT is joining the show in November.

That didn't drop Magic - good. That was my big concern.

As for the rest:

A - Marlena/John and the Brady family have been eating this show for years. Did people REALLY think their return would still allow other characters to carry story?

B- These are previews and usually play out early in the cycle. These aren't necessarily all we have to look forward to.

C- Where there is a family member mentioned, the family usually isn't far behind. (Other shows, not so much) So we can be pretty assured State will be involved with EJ.

THey aren't really saying much but it sounds different at least. I am getting less excited with Sarah Brown now when I read already she and Brady are some epic romance. I suppose if the story is good it could work but honestly I just don't see she and EM clicking. but then she did work well with Mo at GH who is not a good actor (and I love EM) so I will stay hopeful

John/Marlena and Bo/Hope not a fan but I could be interested if the story is good.

And Quinn why so many details on him. Lord he better not be the new Melanie.

Jack is the fun guy who gets in his way all the time. Ugh. I think Matt Ashford is by far the best of all the actors on this show now so

why Jack the buffoon again?

Marlena/John: Salem celebrates the couple's return on September 26. But John and Marlena's comeback will quickly be rocked by surprising twists. Thomas shares, "They're going to go through many trials together, but their love will stay strong."

Bo/Hope: Bo and Hope risk their police careers to uncover who is behind attacking hookers in Salem. When the culprit is revealed, it's a huge shocker. As the hooker case comes to a close, Bo and Hope find themselves thrown into a new investigation that has far-reaching implications and involves a leading Salem figure.

Carrie/Austin: The couple returns on September 26. Thomas asserts, "Carrie and Austin remain close, but they find themselves at cross-purposes."

Too much focus on couples. Looks like these writers will use Bo and Hope the same way that Higley 1, Sheffer and Higley 2 did, as cops with no real story, BORING! Not interested at all in Austin and Carrie.

Sami/Rafe: After the couple weathers Sami's medical crisis, Sami rejoins the workforce, and Rafe also struggles with a career dilemma. McPherson previews, "They will face unexpected challenges." Adds Thomas, "There is also a lightness coming to Rafe. We have some really good stuff for Galen Gering to play."

Good stuff for Galen to play? I hate when writers talk about giving certain actors something. They should think of them as characters and what works for the stories. They should not point out certain actors just because they're buddies.

Jack/Jennifer/Daniel: Matthew Ashford returns as Jack the third week in September. Jennifer and Daniel's romance is at a pivotal stage when Jack "drops" into Jennifer's life again. "Jack is this fun guy who gets in his own way all the time," smiles McPherson. "When we though about bringing back Jack, we wanted it to be the Jack that the audience would remember."

Don't care about Jack the clown and Dr Tan Hairy Chest fighting over Missy "phoning it in" Reeves.

EJ: EJ throws his hat into the political ring and announces his candidacy from mayor of Salem. "EJ wants to change the reputation of the DiMera name for his children," explains McPherson. Thomas adds, "This story will run through the fall."

Just like I thought, this story is about EJ. It has nothing to do with Abe and Lexie.

Maggie/Victor: A fall wedding proposal from Victor doesn't mean that this couple will enjoy happily ever after. McPherson cautions, "There is sweet romance and love laced with a secret."

Boring.

Madison James: Sarah Brown's Madison arrives in Salem on October 4. Says McPherson, "Madison has a past. Parts of it we will know. Parts of it we won't know. We wanted to have [a character in] a great romance with Brady and we wanted somebody who could be in a working environment with Sami."

So they have already decided that she's gonna be paired with Brady. I like Sarah Brown, but I don't like that she will be in story with two bad actors like Eric Martsolf and Alison Sweeney.

Nicole/EJ: "They each find their own identities in this crazy mix of romance and mystery," offers Thomas.
Another one with EJ.

Sonny: "Sonny is going to play a role in a very large story that we have coming up," says McPherson. "We're not at liberty to talk about it. But he will have a very big role in that story."

Don't care.

Quinn: Bren Foster's Quinn exits later this month, but returns by mid-October. "When we send him off, it was always with the plan of bringing him back," explains Thomas. "We just needed to give the character a break so we could bring him back in a positive way that would let us do with him what we wanted to do with him and give us potential for growth." McPherson adds, "We wanted to bring in a spa and we thought it would be a nice idea to play him." Quinn's return is inspired by the hairdresser that Warren Beatty played in the 1970s classic Shampoo. "Bren Foster is also very good at martial arts," McPherson discloses. "The spa that we'll be opening in the new town square is sort of a life spa. There will be self-defense for women and things like that. He seemed to naturally fit into that."

Pimp and drug dealer turns spa worker. They should have kept Quinn as a bad guy.

So nothing about Stefano, Kate, Abe, Lexie, Roman. And Melanie, but that's a good thing.

Not impressed with these spoilers.

I remain concerned that this show is going to be nothing more than a less stupid version of Higley's show -- that is, nothing actually going on, just a bunch of strange little short-term plots that never add up to anything.

ROFL, God help us.

Days might do SuperCouples better than anyone (actually, they are the only show that can) however it really limits how interesting the characters involved become. Even in death one doesn't seem to be able to shake the other - which is probably why Days have more people coming back from the dead than all other shows combined.

I'll take supercouples over the general crap that the show is today.

John and Marlena over Chloe the Chlamydia Crusted Hooker? Yes, please.

  • Member

thats kinda lame. I was hoping for someone more significant

Like who? Marlena? Let's face it, the only "big reveal" is when it's Marlena. Whether she's possessed by the devil or killing half the town... if it's MARLENA, it's a big deal smile.png Everyone else is just "blah, whatever"

I'll take supercouples over the general crap that the show is today.

Muwahahah... agreed.

I wonder when Carly exits. And Taylor too. Hmm...
