I would absolutely rank TB second to SJB.  In fact, I liked her more than SJB, but I can recognize the greatness of SJB's Carly.  I think TB was perfect for Carly in that moment.  Good romantic chemistry with MB, slightly less volatile, great at emotional scenes, an ease with her most important co stars, etc.  Could I see her playing Carly now?  Not really.  Honestly her work as Ava is so boring I don't even know why I loved her so much.

Her work as Kim you mean? Ava was Carly from ATWT.

Speaking of that, Carly Tenny and SJB's Carly Roberts had alot of storyline parallels. Child passed between multiple baby daddies while truly in love woth one guy. Blonde, scheming, and the show's outcast.

Ahhhhhh copy!!! My familiarity with DOOL is not too strong!

Kim's story was poorly done. she was never used as the villain she could've been. I would've rather seen her break up Sonny and Carly's marriage than Nina, had she been written more similar to the character she played as Carly. Sarah Brown's return as Claudia was a better done storyline with more long reaching consequences.

Great chat w/ vets Kin Shriner and Jackie Zeman...Maurice is so eager to hear stories from GH's glory days.  So nice to hear mentions of Chris Robinson, Gerald Gordon and Steve Bond.

Can't wait for Pt 2.

Saw Kin posted this throwback on Twitter. He was a cutie back then, and I think the only character on GH I have liked as both a nice guy and a total unapologetic scumbag.  Scotty is such a great character.

Great stuff in Pt 2.  Recollections of Rick Springfield, Demi Moore and John Stamos from their GH days.

I don’t understand why Maurice always asks guests about drug use in the 80s...Tristan Rogers refused to discuss it and Kin looks nonplussed with the question, but he does let a few tales loose.

Overall, excellent tidbits for 80-era GH fans…

While I can't know Mo's inspiration for asking, after reading Larry Lau's blogs on his experience with drugs in the 80s, it lead me to believe that the influence was prevalent and drug use may often be the answer as to why certain characters were written off prematurely or good actors were never seen again.

    • Good Morning, this is still funny to me but I totally enjoyed what makes up "DemetriKane" so unnecessary, who cares?!!! Glad you like the Emma Peel derivative story.
    • Christian Streaty penned today's Day's script. https://www.linkedin.com/in/christian-streaty/
    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
