I never thought the show was saying TSJ Todd was insane in the Tarty story. I thought they wrote it as his family driving him insane and Marty being his salvation.

-- baz is gayer than marcus bachmann. and cripes, that is really gay.

Not being sensitive here, but what's really gay? Gay is gay and Baz is definitely not feminine acting. Just curious as to what it means.

You just contradicted yourself

What I see with TSJ is very consistent with Todd under RH. Both were awful people who did awful things to those they claimed to love. I would say only Higley's Todd seeemed off bc that was the only time Todd was a true victim, but other than that, I could easily see everything else as a natural extension of RH's run. It's all stuff the character would have done as he's done worse in the past.

DH didn't know what she was doing. Anyway, i can agree the with some of what you said, but I if RH played the role all along, things would have gone drastically different. RH would have never played the "rapemance". It just would have happened. We would would be seeing a totally different Todd, as ironic as it may be.

I don't see how. The buildup before he found Marty was when he went really off the rails. After he found her was when he began distancing himself from the family and became more and more isolated with Marty, as more and more viewers seemed to see this as some great love story.

Which is just sick. IMO, that was the worst thing RC has written during his tenure at OLTL. I can even deal with this porn nonsense, but the rapemance will ever go down is my most hated OLTL story. I'm hoping RH is the real Todd. At least that will somewhat correct a drastic wrong.

RH's Todd was allowing Starr to put piranha in Max's bathtubs. He was teaching her how to be a cyberterrorist by the age of 8, trying to put viruses on Buchanan's computer system. He taught her more bad than TSJ has Jack. As far as Marty, Todd was clearly insane in that story. He wouldnt have done it in his right mind and I thought the show did a good job at expressing just that. Its hard to see RH not be regarded as a clever sociopath bc he was. The man killed Guy Armitage and had no remorse for that and then he tried to frame Patrick for it. The same man that held nearly a dozen people hostage with the fear that he had a bomb ready to blow them all up, and then exploited and used his sister's mental illness which she got as a result of being raped to manipulate the system into getting him free. The same man who punched his wife in the face, threw her out in the cold, nearly naked. The same man who would use his child as a weapon, teaching her to hate her mother, just so he could get his sick need for revenge. The same man that couldnt bear to raise another man's child, so he stole his fiancee's baby, gave him away to strangers and told her he was dead, only to convince her to adopt the child after he learned he was the father. Todd also manipulated Blair by hiring people to pretend they were in the mob and staged the death of her hired nanny. She was literally in feat of her life and he used that danger to try and coerce her into marrying him. He shot RJ just to get him out of hte picture so he could take Tea. He terorrized and tried to rape Nora. He kidnapped his niece, Natalie and gave her to Mitch Laurence, (whom he knew raped his sister and tried to rape Natalie earlier) whom was ready to cut her heart out. When confronted about that by Viki, he proceeded to laugh it off and crack jokes. And this guy wasnt a sociopath?

ITA with all of that! Todd is Todd no matter who was playing him. And LOL at people who are talking about how things would be different if RH had been Todd all along. RH would have done what the scripts said the same way that TSJ did.

Apparently, you don't know RH's history with the show. Why do you think writers in the past complained because he wouldn't play certain things? I seriously doubt he would have gone for the rapemance.

You are right in that he wouldnt play it; he would have just left the show. Thats probably the only story I think he would have had a major objection to and they'd probably alter it to cater to him

I actually respect TSJ for doing his job and playing the story. It actually annoys me when actors try to dictate story. That [!@#$%^&*] doesn't fly in other jobs and at the end of the day being an actor is a job.

and I would have applauded Roger if he'd left. At least he cares about the Todd character. TSJ sure doesn't, it seems to be just another job to him.

All this story validates for me is that the real Todd Manning would never, ever, ever do what he did to Marty twice, or what he did to Starr, to Jessica and Chloe, what he let Jack get away with, and on and on. This gives me back a Todd I can believe in, instead of some clever sociopath. The key to the character's longevity was that he always had at least some shred of a soul. TSJ's Todd gave that away a couple years ago.

 NO offense but this is dumb. An actor knows their character better than anyone, even better than the writer's. if it's something majorly OOC, then I say object away. It's NOT dictating, it's caring about the integrity of the character you put your heart and soul into.

If you're playing a character who is a rapist, and multi time attempted racist I don't see what character integrity you' have to protect. Not to mention everything else Cheap listed that RHTodd did during his run. The character has and always will be a sociopath no matter who's playing him. To whitewash his actions because RH came back for a paycheck is stupid

Its not the actor's character; it's the shows and they are fit to do as they see fit. If they dont want to play whats in the script, then they need to get out. Im with Antoyne. I dont like when actors think they can just change scripts up, throw hissy fits and flat out ignore whats given to them. Some actors have huge egos and seem to presume they should have more power than they actually have

I don't judge TSJ or SH for playing that story. I still think the story - or at least the love scene and everything following it, along with the stuff with Starr and Tess - should not have made it to air.

And yes, RH's Todd did many, many terrible things during his original run on the show. But there were all sorts of circumstances - few of which excuse him - and he never violated certain skewed principles within his own character. He never turned on Starr or ever thought of repeating his mistake with Jack. He never used Jessica's illness against her. And he never, ever raped again.

Manye of that has to do with the fact that they were thrown in different circumstances. Who's to say RH's Todd wouldnt have acted the same way had he been around? Jessica didnt have a diagnosed illness back then. He also didnt have to deal with teenage kids and all the problems that went along with it. He didnt rape a woman again but he wasnt above abusing them with his fists
