Yes that is my point. Both shows were freaking marked for death to us as short as 8 days ago. What does it matter if the shows lose vets? A week ago as far as we knew ALL the vets were lost (along with everyone else). The worst thing that could happen with the web shows is that they fail and the soap world once again looks like it did 8 days ago.

I just think there's a difference between cynicism and saying this is already some huge disaster or that actors making perfectly understandable statements about not knowing what happens next = disaster and embarrassment.

For a long long time now the only guarantee with AMC or OLTL is that nothing would change, unless change meant getting even further towards Frons fantasyland.

Now we're in a position where anything can happen. I don't think it can ever be worse than most of what the soaps have become.

OMG look at the catastrophizing. "Its a DISASTERRRRR!!" When did this board turn into Gladys Kravitz from Bewitched? ("Abner the neighbor lady is a witch! She's a witch! She's gonna kill us all!") Of course it's going to be a disaster because it's going to be different and different=disaster. So hide yo kids, hide yo wives, hide yo husbands cause they's going online out here!

That two-faced fool needs to never talk about Susan Lucci ever again.

Well it does seem disorganized because even the writers seem shocked. I think they need to have the writers just create a new show almost. Narrow the cast down significantly, then start asking those actors to stick around. Look at new characters or recasts and then focus your show. I worry they'll just take anybody who will stay and it'll be very disconnected like GL with such random collection of characters. OLTL definitely lucked out because they'll have more time to prepare.

It seems disorganized because people who don't know [!@#$%^&*] about it keep acting like they do. We're not getting information. We're getting buzz, talk and rumors. If you look at all the "news" we've gotten on this, 90% of it is conjecture from the soap press and the rest has been actors feeling pressured to respond to inquiries about their status. The only factual information we have is the fact that PP bought the rights. Pretty much everything else has been click bait for the blogosphere.

AMC's Irizarry Addresses AMC Status

By SOD

© JPI

Vincent Irizarry (David, AMC) has released a statement on Facebook regarding his status with the show. Irizarry wrote: "I've been getting a lot of questions from many of you, asking 2 things: am I going to the AMC Fan Event, and will I be staying with the show when it transitions to the internet? The first is easy, yes, I plan on being at the AMC Fan Event at the end of the month. The second, not so easy. Some have even informed me that it was reported somewhere that I'm staying with the show. That is not at all true at this time. Until I hear from the new producers to learn what they're offering, I have to work under the assumption that my contract with the show ends on Aug 31 and plan accordingly, which I am."

SL being an EP is a huge conflict of interest and I think she is too protective of her image to slap her name on such an unproven venture. And the minute sh!t doesn't go their way or this thing flops, here come a bunch of thankless fans with the, "Shame on her!", blowing up her Twitter and message boards talking about everything she coulda woulda shoulda done to save the franchise that made her a star. No thanks!

LOL! Right? That selfish shrew will burn at the stake of soap history! Just like Oprah!

SOS! SOS! SOS!

That is a thing of beauty. I'm still sorry I was never able to talk ABC into doing a charity auction or contest where viewers could bid on the chance to film a scene of them hitting their least favorite character. Kind of like a dunk tank. It would raise more than all the years of Broadway Cares combined. Although it would be hell on actors like Mathison, Easton and Bernard. They'd need a chiropractor and non stop ice packs when it was all over.
