Well the unions "win" again. They'd rather NOT have jobs instead of negotiating to SAVE jobs.

Edgeofnik, you know the way it works: the unions' salary/benefit demands are never unreasonable, and anyone who opposes them is just greedy. When the NJ governor (whose very obese) asked unionzed teachers to forgo a raise for one year (in exchange for no layoffs of non-tenured teachers), he was immediately classified as somebody who hates teachers and kids; one union leader (who still remains in his job) actually wished him dead.

I truly think its everything. Unions not agreeing, investors not seeing this as a good move at this time and some actors wanting to move on. Its no ones fault. Maybe just not the right time.

I agree with this. It isn't one thing that made this happen, it is a combination of things. Currently still assessing the matter.

No hope.

I want to see what Errol says. It's Thanksgiving & I am beyond upset right now.

So sorry for AMC and OLTL fans. So much to say, but I want to hear all the details before I comment. If anyone is interested.

This is not the fault of the unions. Prospect Park was unable to raise the money. Dont blame the unions for trying to protect their members

They probably paid a lot of money for having the rights for 10 years. Since they have the rights, I can't see them doing nothing ever with those rights. Maybe they'll do a mini-series spinoff or something at some point? I mean, I can't see AMC or OLTL in their current forms continuing, but I doubt PP will totally waste the rights they paid for.

Still I'd like to see what Errol says as well, just giving my opinion :D

Daytime Confidential article, the unions were willing to meet halfway

One thing I want to say, if PP knew this was an uphill battle, why on earth did they ask AN and LB to do a cliffhanger ending for AMC? WTF?

My guess was at the time they maybe did not understand the magnitude of it. I still dont think AMCs ending was bad

It's like when alot of networks acquire rights to shows for a period of time, it really doesn't mean much for PP to have the rights for 10 years.

I'm looking into the matter as "it ain't over until the fat lady sings." While I understand this may be the end of the online plans for now (keyword is suspended), that doesn't mean the story ends with the press release.
