They pulled an ABC. reminds me of their "We don't comment on rumors" crap. No comment usually means there's TRUTH to it

Well, if nothing else, the tree in the logo still looks nice.

At this point I think PP would say "no comment" if they were asked if the sky was blue.

Errol,

what do you think? Is online OLTL happening?

I think there are various matters going on that doesn't tie in with the other. I do not believe that the Online Network is dead, I do not believe that OLTL and AMC are dead. Production may not start when expected for the shows or the network, but this company, Prospect Park, has the rights to our soaps for the next 10 years. I'll just leave my comment there.

You're way more optimistic than me Errol, I think AMC is dunzo, OLTL has a chance moreso IMO

I think AMC was always a longshot. And if these shows want to continue on with the same casts are these actors expected to just be sitting around waiting for these projects to move forward. Not that I ever felt it was that critical to have to keep all the same people or characters but someone did. Im still not convinced OLTL is dead delayed maybe. It just depends on how much money they stil needed to move forward.

I don't think I feel optimism about any of this as while they have the rights for 10 years, it doesn't mean anything will ever get made. A lot of movie scripts end up in development **ll, so it isn't an unheard of thing to pay for the rights to something and get no final project. If either project comes to fruition, it may take years and by then there may be completely new people involved (which is a double edged sword potentially.)

I feel most for the people whose livelihoods are based around OLTL as I bet some were expecting to have a place to work and now their lives are back in flux.

I thought I read near the beginning of this that if they don't actually pay anything to ABC if they end up not showing the shows. If that's true, then at least they won't be bleeding money for licensing fees if it takes awhile to get this project off the ground.

I had a feeling from the beginning that maybe they were being too ambitious and that they should consider scaling back (to like 1 or 2 shows a week and maybe a 1/2 hour in length) until they at least get the shows going.

Sure does fuel the rumors that this was an elaborate ABC scam from the beginning

No, it really, really doesn't. If there is merit to this, I still don't think it has anything to do with ABC/Disney. They are a business, they have no time to invest in trying to get some weird type of revenge on their soap fans mad that they canceled them.

I sure hope OLTL fans don't get screwed of a finale like AMC fans did after all this

I got a largely great finale. Speak for yourself ;)

Ha! So true! Although given Jamey's love for OLTL over AMC, I'm more inclined to believe him. He wouldn't want to put bad news out there about OLTL while he relishes talking smack about AMC and its actors.

That's a good point, although sometimes I think Jamey's desire to "break news" and get a reaction trumps even his OLTL love.

Prospect Park did spend money on the sets and props right, so they did invest some money. Then again they could repurpose some of those things like ABC did on "The View" after it cancelled "The City".

Yes, I've heard the rumblings about Prospect Park not moving forward with #OLTL. Nothing to confirm yet, but I've been saying it for ages.

Prospect Park has been VERY public about not having financing in place. Without financing, nothing else mattered.

From day 1, I've questioned where the money would come from, and there's been nothing since to quell my fears/suspicions.

Of course, I was crucified left and right for raising these issues/questions.

This is what pisses me off--it's not quite Jamey level, but, if you want to be a serious twitter for *info*--WHY feel the need to go on "Of course poor little me was RIPPED to shreds when I suggested-0-way back when things looked like a go mind you--that this would probably all fall through"?! Ummm, seriously I don't get how these people think.
