And to be honest if they felt announcing Lucci was interested would help them gain capital they IMO would have announced it at the time they spoke with her. All this does is makes certain members of the soap press look a bit foolish for not verifying their sources and maybe a bad light on Prospect Park if they indeed were behind some of these leaks. But I dont really see it having much of an impact.

There was a list published somewhere and there could be a link somewhere in this thread but I can't recall when what website had the list of potential shows identified but there were 6 or 7 scripted shows.

The only thing I know as it relates to OLTL and AMC or what was AMC is that the WSJ article referenced the fact that the shows would be aired and surrounded by reality and lifestyle programming initially and that was it.

I just wonder if they're pitching those other shows to possible investors. All we hear about are the soaps (understandably given what this site is about) but has PP moved forward on anything else? We heard that some of the AMC actors were helping with union negotiations and I assume the union issues wouldn't apply to just the soaps so wouldn't it help to have other actors involved? Might not potential investors want to hear that PP isn't putting all its hope in two one expensive show in a dead genre? If I were a potential investor, I would wonder what else they were working on.

Thanks John.

Wow. 1. I was fully expecting this to be a cable series, looks too damn good for NBC, 2. The NY theatre actor in me could feel those audition scenes in my bones, 3. not until the very end did I realize that beautiful girl was Katharine McPhuckinPhee! She looks pheenomenal.

It was developped for Showtime--it's one of the projects that tat Showtime guy (Greenblatt?) took with him to NBC. I just hope they give it a chance, though it looks like a show which would do better with short seasons. (that couple who produced Chicago and all the tv musicals is behind it--umm Zadan and someone--yes I do my research:P I just remember Craig Zadan's name because he wrote one of the first major books on Sondheim :P )

Having Smash on after the Voice may help, but that time slot is competitive.

Getting back to what Susan Lucci said, thank goodness she opened her mouth. I wanted to hear her side before making a judgment call on this situation.

I'm glad she addressed the situation as well, but at the same time, I think we should be careful about assuming that those involved are telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth when they do decide to speak. I'm not trying to imply anything, but I think we should take even the words of our "favorites" with a grain of salt. Everyone's looking out for #1 here and an astute public figure knows from what you need to know, what you want to know, what you don't need to know, and what they don't want you to know.
