One Life to Live has been many things to many fans. I fell in love with a freaking pocket of show, like '93-'95, and with considerable breaks, it's that pocket that's kept me hanging on and hanging in. The show was that good to me back then, and I have often been disappointed that it hasn't been as good since, but at this point I'm sticking with it til the end. I don't know, maybe long term fans of a show where Viki/Niki/Jean/Tommy/Tori/Princess/Jess/Tess/Bess are our leads aren't bothered by its ever-changng personality. But I think it's pretty safe to say that the OLTL of today will most likely be this OLTL until its PP death. FV's blend contains satire of Rauch's campiness with the occasional attempt at Nixon's or Gottlieb's social commentary when not (*allegedly*) quashed by TPTB. I'm really hoping that the wise folks at PP aren't too laissez faire with FV however.

I think GH is the closest to Frons' vision. I doubt the uber camp is his style, and, although I loathe what he did to ABC Daytime, the obsession with fetishizing and romanticizing rape also doesn't fit what he did to the other ABC soaps.

What OLTL most needs is better pacing, and a heart. It also needs to stop having such deeply unpleasant characters parading around as prize studs, with insta-forgiveness. I have no idea why I'm supposed to root for Ford, Clint, Jack, Rex, etc. I guess it's supposed to be hip.

I watch at my desk top. I have a nice 21" Mac and a nice chair. So every day or maybe I skip a day I just go to hulu for OLTL and NBC.com for DOOL and it's very easy. If you miss a few days and want to catch up no problem. There are commercial breaks but never more than 60 seconds, and you can use that minute to do whatever.

I find it very natural now and prefer this to watching on TV. I tend to watch late night when there are no distractions.

I don't record TV anymore nor do I care for DVR's. I regularly watch programs (including soaps) via YouTube, network websites, Netflix, Hulu, etc. Almost always I'm watching it via my 36" TV that is connected to my computer.

I have watched OLTL on YouTube a couple times when I've missed it. I'll open all four segments in their own tabs and let them load so it's easy viewing if I want to fast forward, and I know this sounds nuts, but I have also watched two tabs simultaneously for speedy viewing.
