I like the show and I like Simon Baker but he's no fantastic actor. JPL probably fits right in.

I have no love for JPL but good on him finding a gig. In all this post cancellation chatter there's been plenty of talk about who will/won't/could/couldn't find work outside of soaps. Let's face it, regardless of how we may feel about certain actors, the only way to show that an actor can find other work is for them to actually find other work. I can think of a few "vets" who would be lucky to get a guest gig on any show.

We knew months ago Sony was interested in DM and I would not be surprised if Brad Bell contacted JY not soon after the cancellation also. But for all the rah rah about OLTL and PP, does anyone think if any of these folks actually had a legit offer from any other soap they would not have gone? I dont'.Regardless of the success of the show in recent months and such, its still a risky venture. Erica Slezak is likely financially secure so its not really a gamble for her. No offense to KDP fans but I don't believe at her age any other soap was clamoring to sign her. Its not a criticism just a fact. Michael Easton no I don't buy anyone was soliciting him so not shocked he signed. Ted King relocated to NY for the show. But its also the only show left in NYC so no one has to relocate to join another show.

I don't see ME and KDP having any other option. ES could retire tomorrow since she's so financially secure. I see her signing so fast as her and PP's message to fans this show will still feel (somewhat) like the old OLTL.

Ted said at his event he didn't want to uproute his wife and baby if he could help it. He wanted to stay in NYC and so PP is only soap option.

I say more power to him. I am not a fan but I see time and time again people acting like being the best actor in the world means optimal success in Hollywood. No offense but we all know Lucci is no Meryl Streep and so what. Most of its image, who you know, and being in the right place at the right time.

But I hear they're hiring at Best Buy.

I would say more power to him if he weren't on a show I watch. At least it's just one episode. I hope some lame brained sitcom hires him and I won't have to see him screwing up his face ever again.

I could see ME on the various procedural dramas. That's one of the reasons I was surprised he went with PP.

The editors of Soap Opera Digest and Weekly present an ALL MY CHILDREN tribute issue, which will hit stands on September 20. With nearly 400-photos, this star-studded 96-page magazine covers four decades of everything viewers have loved about Pine Valley and the people who have lived in it. This can't miss issue is jam-packed with never-before-seen photos from the archives of Digest and Weekly and features interviews with stars past and present like Josh Duhamel (ex-Leo), Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley), Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall), unforgettable love stories and weddings, messages from the stars to all of you and so much more to make this edition an essential keepsake. Don't miss it!

I love ME but to my knowledge he doesn't audition anymore. I think the main reason he signed with PP is because he's a new father and diapers cost money. A check is a check and John McBain is easy money.

Yeah, well I can't fault anyone for signing on just to make a buck. There are only 4 soaps left. GH is almost certainly going the way of the others soon. Then there will be 3 and Y&R can only hire so many people. I really feel for these actors, even if there are a lot of other people out of work in the world right now.

ATWT received a similiar tribute. I am glad I bought it. If you are a big AMC fan I would buy this.

It's harder and harder to find any of the soap mags where I used to be able to, so I hope I can track this down (and that People special which I guess is already on many newstands).

Nope according to Jerry Ver Dorn who plays Clint, OLTL will still film in NY

Interview with Vincent Irizarry

http://soaps.sheknows.com/allmychildren/news/id/19827/Interview_All_My_Childrens_Vincent_Irizarry/

Q: Speaking of Prospect Park, Has there been any forward movement for "All My Children" as far as you know?

Vincent: As far as I know, no, there hasn't been. I've spoken to numerous actors from the show over the last few days and nobody from our show has been in contact with them. Except for Susan [Lucci, Erica], which we all assumed that awhile ago. So, that's basically it. They're moving [forward] with "One Life to Live" right now and that's certainly their right. That's what they're doing and for whatever reason that's how it happened.
