OK, so now we're saying that the government is paying for everything.

Aye dios mfuckin mio

Who said that? It's been reported that they got a grant from the government.

So no, no one is saying that

I don't think it's even been confirmed. Dragonflies, by the way you worded your message I did think youw ere implying the government was paying for everything so PP wouldn't worry about losing money if they didn't air AMC.

Exactly. Does anyone even remember who first came up with the "government grant" thing?

This site reported it. It was in the main canceled thread.

Good lord no offense but I hope our government has better things to do with our tax dollars than fund 2 online soap operas. I got the impression that the "grant" if there is one was a grant related to setting up online "channels" so to speak for online viewing of programming developed for internet viewing as a way to encourage development in this area not to "pay for" AMC and OLTL persey. I expect they would also have a lot of venture capital also.

Here's the Access Hollywood clip from yesterday about AMC: <object width="400" height="400" align="middle"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://widget.accesshollywood.com/singleclip/singleclip_v1.swf?CXNID=1000004.10035NXC&WID=482a0d55893fbe3f&clipID=1351659"/><param'>http://widget.accesshollywood.com/singleclip/singleclip_v1.swf?CXNID=1000004.10035NXC&WID=482a0d55893fbe3f&clipID=1351659"/><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /><embed src="http://widget.accesshollywood.com/singleclip/singleclip_v1.swf?CXNID=1000004.10035NXC&WID=482a0d55893fbe3f&clipID=1351659" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="400" height="400" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object>

I don't think there is anything unusual about the government giving a grant to a new business venture. I'd rather have them support something that will create jobs in the entertainment business than some of the other things they spend our tax dollers on.

I'm still lol at these RUMORS and the subsequent reactions. Looks like whomever released the ish is getting some of what they wanted. This is not any sort of conformation! "I hear that" ...."I learned" please!!!! Well at one time people "learned" the earth was flat ...and they "heard" that if they traveled too far they would fall offwink.png

It's also pretty obvious the "article" had a bias OLTL slant to it and wanted to make the Queen of Soaps look bad. ( Does anybody know if NB got a job at deadline.c whistling.jpg ) "SL tried to gouge" ...... SL??? Doesn't sound like the woman that took pay cut after pay cut to help keep the show going! Now she wants to "gouge" the producers. Whatever.

&&& if she was wanting more money and less work ..WTF is wrong with that??? That...um...ah.... is what negotiations are!! You start high hoping to meet in the middle and getting what you really want!!!! Should she work forever at the same rate ....don't people usually get raises in their careers and many many many times also get >>>>>LESS hoursohmy.png ???

She's would also be in a place to do that being the face of AMC and moreover .....soaps in general..... & ....especially after taking said pay-cuts over the years! Also was it not PP that just put it out there that the actors that went online would get primetime gigs on their other series??? Now it's "SL tried to gouge ....wanted a primetime deal and less hours" Puhleeeeeezzzzzzz!

Also if anybody noticed ....the actual statement from PP said nothing about SL or her "gouging demands or her being out" . So I'll take this as what it is................RUMORS............ until SL or PP put something out there. Funny how this came after the added epilogue to her book and the THREATENING response from ABC that basically said ......"your career is over." In fact I was waiting for something like this and boom here it is ...just a little surprised it came so fast! Looks like ABC/FRONS wasted NO time after getting back from the Labor Holiday! PLEASE! GMAFB!

I'm wondering if PP wanted SL in an exclusive contract/deal and she balked at that

EXTREMELY possible.....and quite likely .....that is.... if any of it's true at all!! But that's the thing with rumors, assumptions and conjecture.....we don't know the truth.

I wonder if this is another pressure tactic--SuLu always seems terribly responsible for thinking about the other actors and crew--and if PP makes it sound like AMC's whole cast might not have work because of SuLu...

Again VERY likely.....but again just our own conjecture on THE DEADLINE RUMOR.

So many psuedo entertainment executives and insiders in this thread...

Wake me up when people begin to have a clue as to what they're being extremely judgmental about and start doling information instead of eyerolls and uninformed gossip.

Transparent as hell. Wanting the show(s) to survive only if it's done according to your specific whims.

The Govt Grant is just for the building of the internet TV site, nothing else
