Yes, when he drove off on his bike, I expected him to at least be gone for a few episodes, but there was none of that. The show clearly feels they can't be without Ridge.

I was STUNNED when they just passed over Caroline's funeral. In my mind, Bell didn't want to force Ronn Moss to act that out, lol

Thats a complete utter lie in the commentary. Thats not how Caroline died. She didnt look good. The actress lost weight and looked very sick for weeks in story. Also the final scenes were very strong. She acted amazingly. These people dont know what they are talking about. Absurd.

IMO; Bill Bell thought that Caroline's cancer and death was already too much sadness for summertime. Therefore he skipped the funeral. I don't agree with this choice, though.

The death scene was AMAZING acting-wise. The whole plot was kinda so-so, IMO. The weird disease which was not disclosed, then Caroline looked way too radiant for a while, Ridge moved on after her death in record speed. I'd say there was room for improvement in this execution even though it was a powerful story which lasting effect for a long time.

He could be wonderfully effective playing some things, like arrogant or seductive, but if the script called for more....

I can totally see that. I was only half-serious about Moss lol I do agree he probably wanted to move on and somewhat minimize, for a lack of a better word, the enormity of Caroline's death and its sadness.

Yes, I'm a little perplexed as to why it was the worst death scene. JJ did wonderful work throughout that story, really fantastic, understated acting. Granted, they are right about how healthy Caroline looked right as she died (more or less), even as she was having difficulty even standing up, but again I think this goes back to not making it too realistic and too sad... this is B&B after all.

If the 1996 angel is reading... I have a little something to ask and I really feel bad to do it. You are already doing so much... and I am so so grateful! But I would ask and I think most can agree that if its possible for the Angel to return to the bigger files... Maybe 150 to 200 mb will be perfect. These new recordings look a lot worse on TV and I think the vault has enough space to have these episodes in better quality. We have some of the most boring years with files worth 700 mb an episode... and these better classic years I think deserve better. Of course if its not possible... thats not an issue. Thanks in advance.

Confirming Videoland have episodes upscaled to 1080p - and they look amazingly sharp and fresh!

When @rsclassicfanforeverwas providing episodes, he captured them in 1080p also. The current angel uploads in 360p resolution, from a screenrecording I believe. There is a notable difference with pixilation when viewing the recent episodes on a large screen for example. But thankful nonetheless to all contributors! Thanks angels!

I can tell you, that the biggest resolution at videoland now is 960x540 pixels.

they changed their system some months ago.

and a few weeks ago they reduced the bitrate of the videos.

at the computer they only show SD Quality. I dont know who uploads the episodes to the vault. I download them too and they are better than in the vault.

i believe HD is only available at the app

but at the moment i am visiting US. When arriving in Germany i can look if i can upload

I am not saying that the angel is uploading in bad quality its just that we have tha vault and we have space... why not have them at 150 mb and be good quality. I am sorry if I am rude for asking. If its not possible I find it completely ok. ANd I thank the angel again.

For all the people complaining about the quality, I can really cancel my subscription at videoland at any time and the Angel @anon4520 will lose the possibility to record the episodes.

I did not know videoland changed their system ... I am trying to download myself the episodes via some program which is not quite working like I would wanted (in reality it is not working at all hence I shared my account with @anon4520 to record) but indeed the highest quality to download it offers is 960x540 pixels just like @rsclassicfanforever said. It is stupid that HD quality can only be viewed via app. Pity they cancelled Seasons 6, 7 and 8 but I believe it is due to copyrights to the episodes, it terminated for those seasons.

Also, all of a sudden, adds are showing on every episode.. Till recently I had zero adds at the beginning of the episodes.

Why are you threatening to cancel when I clearly am not complaining and just asking if there is an alternative to change the recording setting to bigger files. Jesus. Everyone adds to the vault whatever they have. I added nearly 150 episodes from 2003 to 2005. The way you are phrasing it" I will cancel if you complain "makes it look like I did something wrong.

Cancel whatever you want. Don't gaslight people and tell me I am complaining when I am simply asking a polite question.

I think this may be the end for me in this thread. People are too toxic and ungrateful.

    • Same here.  Anyone who voluntarily left Margo's penthouse set (except to go overseas or to Heaven) was immediately on my blacklist.  lol.

    • The penthouse was my favorite set... and it changed hands from Margo to Draper/April to Miles/Nicole then to just Miles... before he opted to give that beautiful place for that drab house with the even more drab Beth.  That was a jump the shark moment for me LOL
    • The storyline April and Draper are involved in during the summer/autumn of 1979 seems fairly "benign" but soon turns very serious.  April has a VERY intrusive, wealthy mother (Margo Huntington Dorn).  Margo knows that April and Draper (who've recently had a miscarriage and are theoretically never going to be able to conceive another baby) want to buy a house.  Margo hoodwinks them into buying a house they can't afford.  The house is listed at $100,000 (about $400,000 in today's dollars).  Margo pays the first $35,000 and leads Draper to believe the asking price of the house is $65,000 instead of $100,000.  If Draper finds out his meddling mother-in-law paid 1/3 of the cost of the home and tricked him, he'll be mad as hell.   Meanwhile, Draper has received a job offer from a prestigious New York law firm.  Margo pulls some strings and has the senior partner in the firm rescind the offer, to keep April in Monticello.  If Draper finds out about THAT, he'll be even angrier with Margo than he will be about the house trickery.  All of that is "bubbling under the surface" in the fall of 1979 but will be the next major story, as everything begins to spiral out of control.   Yep, you've got the Karrs and their very basic middle-class house, the Victorian-themed place where Miles and Nicole live, April and Draper's old craftsman house with the exposed beams, the Madisons & their Mission revival house, and Margo with her 1970s-chic penthouse.  Each of the sets is completely different.  And their budget was like zero, lol.
    • It felt weird and out of place.  I get it. While I agree with those on here that say he's gotten better, it's still really bad. I'm not seeing the "good" acting some see...but I'll give him a B for being better than when he first started. There's potential. I'll leave it at that.
