Based on the [limited clips] I have seen: Lane Davies was the perfect Ridge recast, and I almost wish he had remained in the role.

From what I've read, reception of the Deveney storyline was not positive. But, I do believe, in latter years, it became something I do believe fans wanted to see re-visited.
I think it was a major missed opportunity to have a Deveney return, with a completely re-structured face to try and lure her way back into Stephanie's orbit via Thorne.
Hell, even following Stephanie's death, it should've been an open-door for Deveney to go back to Los Angeles and try to wiggle her way into the Forrester family, as seeking revenge.

Interesting it’s been so long, I may be misremembering Margo stealing it for Jake to sell(or am I thinking of something it?). I definitely recall they left town over it together, especially right after Margo had affair behind Bill Sr’s back with Taylor’s ex husband.

Hard to believe it almost 30 years ago I’d love to see it again for sure too.

CRAZY SH*T

When B&B airs on the Middle Eastern channel MBS (?) it usually lasts 15 minutes only as well. But that's because they cut out all the sex scenes and cursing etc. LOL They dod not bother with the episodic structure.

Mediaset and RAI in Italy on the other hand. They always butchered Y&R, Guiding Light and DAYS into 40 (?) minutes including commercials, so that everything was out of sync and did not resemble the US broadcasts at all. I didn't know that they also do this for B&B. Considering that B&B nowadays has a lot more space for commercial time than most European outlets squeeze into a TV show of 30 minutes, this is even more puzzling.

PS: does anybody know if Mediaset shows NEW episodes on Saturdays and Sundays or is it an "omnibus" style / weekend catch-up/rerun?

@slick jonesFor your soap hoppers/connection data base:

Marnie Andrews (I) https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0028766/ who played Betsy Kensington on GH did guest star on B&B in October 1991 as Sally's Lamaze Class Teacher. Allegedly (but without any IMdB credit: B&B's Meave Quinlan (ex-Megan Conley) did also play Betsy Kensington not sure if as a temp or if she was recast by this actress).

    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
    • He a dirty dog! Those are his kids and he hurt everyone. At this point he needed to just come clean. I can't believe I was lusting over this man! I hope they aren't quick to forgive.
    • The way I took it is that he did not want to confirm or deny anything until he talked to Nicole first. He was very calculated with the wording he used with Martin and Kat
    • I still see Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton when Martin gets angry.
    • Not that I want to defend Y&R's writers, but it's not as absurd as you'd think and I believe they plucked it from reality (and then bungled it). The Estee Lauder Companies purchased Tom Ford's brand several years ago and I am willing to bet that's how Jabot came to buy Marchetti.
    • Loved the episode today. looking forward to the fallout. Nubian-Sheila looked fantastic, but I wish the writers would cut back on her overuse of figurative language. I loved the "fix yo mind ministries" line though. The background music during her fantasy confrontation with Nicole was epic.
    • Nothing makes sense on this show. I wish there was a garbage can emoji. That sums up 90% of the show right now.

Jane Wyman return episode was head-to-head w/ Cheers season 8 finale. Falcon Crest broadcast syndication began Fall 1986, which overlapped w/ Oprah going national. AFAIK cable broadcasts were Lifetime and Soapnet. I have no memory of cable broadcasts on TBS, TNT, TNN, E!, FX.
    • After today’s rushed and abrupt exit for Summer I immediately realized that Josh & Co. were very blindsided by AL’s decision to leave.  Not the first time this has happened to JG either; see MM & HK’s exits in 2021, MM’s exit in 2022, and of course TSJ’s exit last year. Obviously JG and our executive in charge of nothing Steve Kent don’t have a good handle on casting disruptions. And Mariah having an offscreen affair is [!@#$%^&*] ridiculous!! Meanwhile Tessa’s blonde hair is overkill with the number of blondes on the show already. I said the same thing 3 years ago…of course it was utterly ridiculous everyone was mad at Sally for getting Summer he dream job (don’t ask lol) but there was so much the show could have done without bringing on the Marchetti angle.
