Yes, he remained at AW until 1979.
I agree his work was stellar during the first few years of his tenure (1971-1975), but then his writing seemed to become inconsistent; good points mixed in with bad.
Unfortunately, he got weaker towards the end of his run. Even Lemay, himself, acknowledged that he got burned out.

What’s funny is I liked Julie okay when she was still friends with Bridget and I first watched Lucy when they’d already worked out a lot of the writing/acting kinks and she was friends with Bridget. Seems to be a common denominator haha (I definitely don’t blame Julie for not wanting to be Bridget’s friend anymore.)
Funny thing about Julie is there was one day they had a stand-in and it was Mira Sorvino.
Sam had that quirky nerdy side that I liked and lots of connections between Harley/Dylan/AM/Ross. It’s too bad they didn’t follow through with the law school plot and make her the second lawyer in town.

Actually, the radio show didn't end on Christmas. It was on another date. I can't remember the exact date but I think it was around September of 1956.
Yes, Irna still wrote the show throughout 1956. Agnes Nixon didn't take the reigns until 1958.

I'm here for Dante/Liz and, hopefully, not a rehash of whatever Dante and Sam were. The writers just put them together without much story. I also still like Ric/Liz. Liz needs to be wooed, flown out and put into a mattress by the silver foxes of Port Charles this year.
As for the Luke tribute, I wonder if the show got Jonathan Jackson back for it. Even if it's just Lucky somewhere thinking of his dad. Lucky's character has become a disaster, but for a moment, he was so important to the canvas and the L&L legacy.

Actually, strangely enough, I enjoyed the novel Beggarman Thief much more than the TV miniseries version of it.
Interesting. Did the novel more closely connect the plots from RM,PM to BM,T? There did seem to be almost a deliberate disconnect between the two television mini-series. I'm wondering if the two novels might have had more in common.

I know who Kimberly Beck is. I first watched her in 1965 ,when she was a child actress and appeared as Kim Shuster on the primetime soap Peyton Place. Later, in 1977, she played a totally different character in the TV movie Murder in Peyton Place.
Of all the projects she has been in, I liked the quirky cult film Massacre at Central High (1977). While it was ultra-low budget and had its weaknesses, it had a certain somethin g which made it curiously interesting.
And yes, I watched Capitol throughout Beck's run as Julie Clegg.
I don't believe she's done much film or television work in many years, aside from performing a few voice-over parts.

Actually, strangely enough, I enjoyed the novel Beggarman Thief much more than the TV miniseries version of it. The casting felt off, which alienated me, and everything just struck me as artificial and contrived. I forced myself to watch it, but did not enjoy the experience.
I think the original Rich Man, Poor Man with Nick Nolte had set the bar so high for me that the pale follow-ups were never going to satisfy me.
