May 26, 201114 yr Member I am truly hoping no more record lows are set this week. I want B&B to go up and I want OLTL and AMC to have record highs.
May 26, 201114 yr Member DAYS had a pretty good week for Sami/2 Rafes. They jumped .2 in HH. But in a way that is bad news. The 2 Rafes coming face to face was about as big as it gets in terms of drama, and it involved the biggest stars on the show. They also advertised it heavily in prime time. But even that only produced a 1.9 rating. Which means that, unless something major changes, that is now the best they can do. Prior to that week they had six straight weeks, and 7 out of 8, at 1.7. And even when their HHs went up to 1.9 they still didn't move in W18-49. So that definitely has to provide cause for concern. Maybe things will change under the new HWs. Maybe Matt Ashford's return will be good for the show. But then again, maybe it's too late at this point.

Maybe Sami getting kidnapped? Reilly sure loved putting Marlena in peril, maybe his proteges will use Sami like Reilly did Marlena. In the past, DAYS always had the ability to bring back viewers. In 2003-2004, they came back during the SSK and in 2008-2009 it was the baby switch. And those times were having regimes changes (Reilly's arrival and Tomlin/Whitsell's arrival). We'll see what happens under the new regime.
May 26, 201114 yr Member What ever Days got they deserve. I am so tired of Sami but she is the only ratings graber these days. i wih they'd give Sami a rest.
May 26, 201114 yr Author Administrator why the heck the big jumps? Umm.....lots of rain? I guess people stayed inside. LOL
May 26, 201114 yr Member It looks like even with a boost they're still down compared to last year. For some reason I keep thinking they stalled out over the last few years and only a few had still been dropping by hundreds of thousands, but I guess not.

DAYS need to get back to basics. Featuring Sami in yet another airtime eating storyline ain't it.

If Marlene/Darrell learned anything from Reilly, it's putting your biggest star in front burner storylines where she's danger or something was done wrong to them....then you build up to a reunion or a revelation. The baby switch hit 3 million viewers.
May 26, 201114 yr Member OLTL has topped GH for like four weeks in a row and has been the number 3 soap. OLTL continues to go out on top. I know theres nothing to reverse the decision to end OLTL but I love knowing the show is going out way before its time and going out with a bang.

True. Problem with Days is she's really the only star there now with Diedre Hall gone. I love Arianna Zucker but she has no where near that exposure or history on that show. They are extremely lucky Ali has stayed with the show because I fear they would have likely not have been picked up without her. BUt honestly I swear female victim. damsel in distress stories are one reason this genre is dying. How about Sami join the Navy Seals and kick some butt.(JK) Edited May 26, 201114 yr by JaneAusten
