Chris will win.

Taylor might be a close runner up. I just don't think he's all that great. He blew this week. He wowed me about twice. Other than that... if he didn't have such a fun personality he'd of been toast.

Bucky sucks. Nuff said. Seems like a nice guy but he is the suckiest one left.

I also knew from the second the show started who would be in the bottom three when I saw Mandisa, Elliot, Paris and Taylor on the top row. I knew it wouldn't be Taylor so it wasn't all that much of a shock. I actually thought Paris would go.

And let's face it, the people listen to Simon. They may all hate his guts but more times than not, they listen to him.

I think surprises like this have a lot to do with song choice. When you pick a flat and boring song even your most hardcore fans aren't encouraged to call in. That's what happens.

I had a feeling tonight would be a shocker and I was right. But I really wish they'd seat these contestants differently; they just make it so damn obvious.

How the heLL is Bucky still in this competition? Even on country singing night I didn't think he was all that good. Love or hate Kellie, she brought it on Tuesday.

Paris has begun to annoy me, well that started weeks ago; I also thought she would be the one who had been voted out with the bottom 3 they had tonight.

Well, as long as Chris wins...

Well I thought the bottom three was spot on. I like how the voters seemed to vote solely on last nights performances instead of on the season as a whole. Paris wasn't very good and deserved bottom three and while Elliott and Mandisa both do have good voices they totally sucked last night. Both of them butchered the songs they sang. Even tonight Mandisa sounded horrible, based on that and last night she totally deserved to go. Do I think Bucky or Ace is that good? Heck no but they brought it last night and deserve another week.

I don't get the shock. I fully expected Mandisa to go home. She has really sucked two weeks in a row.

The only surprise was that Elliott was in the bottom two.

I truly believe that Taylor, Kellie and Chris get the most votes every week. I want Elliott in the top three but I think America has already decided that, even though I don't think Kellie is all that great.

DialIdol measures the busy signals to find out who is going home each week. Here are the results from this week. I am surprised that Taylor and Katharine are getting the most votes.

I am not surprised at all. All those in the bottom 3 should have been there (Taylor could have been too though). Based on last night alone, it was right. I knew Mandisa would take a hit with everything going on whether it was true or not (especially given what are culture is now a days). Her bad performance last night (and last week too) did not help matters. Simone warned her about that song last week and this week he told her last night that song was wrong (although not for the same reasons as last week's).

Don't get me wrong I loved her but she just was not the same the last few weeks so its not as big a shock as Latoya and Jennifer in season 3. We all knew this year would be shocking and this is the first big bomb. I still think Chris and Katherine for the finale with Kellie or Taylor in third and I am sticking to it.

Elliot, whom I like, better do something WOW next week. He has been good but nothing really gripping. Paris will go soon-she is getting tiring.

I'm glad Mandisa finally went, that anti-gay thing stopped me from voting, but would you really want her to win? In the UK, they had an overweight woman who acted like she was missing a limb win and it was just awful. She ended up doing so poorly that they cancelled the show. Look at Ruben, where is he? I know I may offend some, but I'm just being realistic. Unless you are a rapper, it's very difficult to become a pop star and be overweight. EVen with actors it's difficult.

What I really like about this season is that while the contestants aren't all amazingly brilliant vocals, they are a diverse bunch. I can see each of them going off and being a different type of Pop Idol.

Look at Madonna and Janet Jackson. Two of the most successful female artists of all time and they aren't very strong vocalists. It's about the full package and I think thats what some of these people are bringing.

    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
    • Hahaha. Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.
    • My hunch is what you've described. JFP is likely back working on transitioning the show to a new studio and embracing new technology for its production model.
