 Exactly. She gets on my freaking nerves. I hate her and want her gone.......sooooooooooonnnn!!

The best ----- Bucky (he WAS in his element), Katharine (her singing was bluesly country, but was country), Paris (I don't get the dislike of this very, very good singer), Chris (surprised me, I thought he might not do good with country, but I did think he might since he sung Johnny Cash's 'Walk the Line' so good, I want him to record it and make a single of it), & Ace (his best performance ever IMHO. I voted for Bucky, Chris, Paris & Katharine.

I think Taylor Hicks sucked and I sure hope he goes home, he also gets on my freaking nerves and is highly over-rated and looks like he's 49 (I agree with Simon on that). I also thought Mandisa wasn't very good with Shania's "Any Man of Mine", she totally picked the wrong song for her voice IMHO.

I'd also put Kellie Pickler in the bottom 3. She's irriatating and not that good of a singer.

Wow, not to spoil anything for anyone, but I HATE HATE HATE how they seat them! It's SO obvious which group will be in the bottom three and which group won't be.

They need to alternate them or something because they make it so damn obvious and it completely ruins the suspense (not that it's hard to venture a guss, but still).

The first group of 3 with Mandissa, Elliot and Paris better be safe bc those are my 3 favorites. It will suck for me if they are bottom 3. It better be the last group formed with Ace, Katherine and Bucky

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

SHOCKING BOTTOM 3!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess the anti-gay thing didn't go well for Mandisa...if that's truly the case, it's nice to see there are a lot of pro-gay people in America. ha - but you never know. I mean Mandisa did NOT deserve to go - she should be top 5...but it's about personality too and her preaching stuff got in the way.

No words can seriously describe how pissed I am.

I am honestly ready to quit watching. This is pure and utter bullshit. I knew once the groups were divided that Kellie, Taylor and Chris were safe. Say hello to our final three folks. Kellie, Taylor, Chris, Ace and Katharine and Bucky are our top six.

It's just bullshit.

I am not shocked for a number of reasons.

Whenever they do the groups elimination thing, it is always for shock value. When I saw Ace, Bucky, and McPhee in a group, I knew they'd be safe.

I am not surprised about Mandisa either. She hasn't wow-ed me since her audition. And everything with the anti-gay this week, I mean it fits. Not saying I think she's anti-gay, but you know the media....

I wanted to like Mandisa's performances a lot more than I did.

Just like Simon predicted...suprise, suprise. Idol sucks this year...it just feels so scripted. The critisms are always the same, its never constructive. I should just stick to Nashville Star.

That being said, I think the "right" person (Chris) will win this year.

    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
    • Hahaha. Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.
    • My hunch is what you've described. JFP is likely back working on transitioning the show to a new studio and embracing new technology for its production model.
