Sounds like an alive Dixie

I sure to god hope so. While I question whether they have the time necessary to do her return any kind of justice, Ghost Dixie and her ripped designer jeans used up her relevance along time ago.

I wonder if we will find out who tried to kill her?

If It's May 17th then how can Kreizman & Swajeski be credited for any of it, especially if Cady only started taping like a few weeks ago? Weren't negotiations with Cady reached way after they were fired?

Well they have some stories still playing out. It's not like they can blatantly state in the credits which writers are responsible for specific storylines.

And maybe they had intended to bring her back anyway.

That seems WAY too soon considering all the facts... are we sure this isn't her first tape date?

Either way, I'm stoked about Dixie being back... AMC needs to end with Tad/Dixie together forever (alive), or if she's dead, then with them in a scene together somehow.

I actually believe that Cady was indeed in negotiations before the show was canceled and I think this is going to be K&S material (although the general story idea, like the Erica doppelganger story, may have come from an outsider).

Earlier in the year Donna Swajeski said either Dixie or someone connected to Dixie was going to be showing up and that they were starting to write the story at the end of February. I believe the episodes we are seeing now were written in late February.

Swajeski also said that the "Dixie" story was going to be about Caleb and Asher. And we know Asher is seriously injured at the end of this week.

The only bit that doesn't fit is why Cady would be thrilled about a story about Caleb and Asher.

I wonder if Dixie and Erica's storyline's are connected. Especially if Cady just started taping today and airs in a week.

This is from the SON report

UPDATE (5/10): This afternoon, on Twitter, McClain announced that her first air-date is Tuesday, May 17. With only seven days separating her first tape-date from her first air-date (and "AMC" currently taping material into June), all signs point to Dixie returning in the flesh. Working recently taped scenes into earlier taped episodes has usually been a precursor to signal the unexpected return from the dead of a favorite character. On this particular episode (May 17), look for both Tad and his current wife Cara (Lindsay Hartley) to coincidentally reflect on their great loves.
