I don't understand why these EPs stripped these shows of their identities. One of the worst was Edge of Night graphics the last 19 months.  How did Erwin Nicholson agree to approve that mess.  Edge always had the best opening and closings.  Another was Wheeler's last graphic on GL.  I did like Rauch's OLTL opening sequence.  Really fit Agnes Nixon's vision.   Only Goutman's final AW graphic was better than all the previous.

Agreed, but listening to the lyrics, they don't make any sense.  The juxtaposition of the idea that "there's always tomorrow" doesn't fit with the concept that the we "only have one life to live."  To me, the idea that we only have one life indicates that we should seize the day, make this moment count and, make the most of the time we have.  It does not mean that if this day sucks (or the rain won't end) we should wait until tomorrow for it to get better.

Here's where you go
When it looks like the rain won't end

(Where is he suggesting we go?  Lllandview?  Asa's house?  Llandfair?)

and then in the second verse (which we only heard on days with extended end credits) he changes the entire meaning of the song

Let's live today
And find someone to share it with
Cause we only have one life to live

Maybe it is just the pandemic, but in hindsight, Peabo lacks logical consistency.

I think the opening credits she show had post Gottleib were the best ones on ABC at the time.  Every time they got updated it wasn’t glaringly obvious.  Punchy, modern music, good graphics, the Banner and the Sun being utilized.

I loved Faces of the Heart on GH, but it did start to look rough with the edits over the years.  I hated the white AMC opening, and was so happy when they put the early 1990’s theme back in place.

I think the tour of Llanview works better without the lyrics.  The instrumental version is great though.

Phelps' ripped off Knots Landing for her GL opening but it was the best one of the modern GL era. Everyone who changed GL graphics after that made them worse.

All the vocals from all the shows were so bad but I loved SFT and Edge and sang along.. When tomorrow comes, what will it bring....  Seems as though a harmony is hard to find... always on my mind.. Edge of Night, half dark half light!

Geez seeing that opening again gets me emotional - it's just perfect, the shots they used, the balance in tone, how they show all aspects of soap, the ending shot...

I was so lucky that I got to see this, Santa Barbara and As the World Turns On and On and the Y&R theme as my first real soap themes. Imagine what some kid now would feel having to watch that GH theme, getting a seizure, and being rushed to the hospital.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
