Members SFK
Phoebe, that's so mean. Meanwhile, I wonder if eyebrows were raised in Pine Valley when Tara named "Chuck's" son Phillip, after her true love. Doesn't that seem kind of inappopriate and detrimental to their ruse? Members DRW50
I guess they just thought Chuck and Tara were naming him after their beloved friend the fallen war hero. Wasn't it Erica who outed the truth about the paternity? Edited August 10, 2011 by CarlD2
Members All My Shadows
Phoebe's the one who announced it publicly. She was drunk (of course) at one of Erica's big parties, and so she ran her mouth and told everybody the truth. IDK who told her, though.
Members Adam
*sigh* I came late to the party due to my 1985 birth, so by the time I was old enough to follow AMC's Phoebe's heyday had long passed, but her character defines what AMC was, at least the humour tied to the drama. She stands apart from the typical soap opera matriarch.

Members EricMontreal22
A facebook friend runs a blog, Deep Dish which is mainly devoted to his obsessions--which tend to be either gay or camp related (though he'd probably hate if I said that). Anyway he's started a countdown of the 150 Greatest Moments on AMC, according to him. There are some great clips--including one brief interview with Larry Keith I'd never seen before (it's from 1976 and seems to be from the same series when the CBC interviewed Agnes nixon which is online as well--I know 76 was when the CBC picked up the show, and it makes me woner if there are more interviews they did to promote it)--in the first 25, posted today. The link is here: http://marcharshbarg...10ed8f04ac43703 WARNING the site is not really work safe. It has male nudity--nothing frontal or hardcore, but a lot of bums and suggestive stuff. Members EricMontreal22
Interesting, I'm certain that article was reprinted (or first printed) verbatim in one of the 1970s soap opera books I have... Will have to check.
Members DRW50
Oh I hope I didn't put up anything you already had put up. I do remember one of those backstage AMC things but wasn't sure if this was it, as it seemed different to me.
Members EricMontreal22
No, I'm pretty sure I didn't put it up--and if I had, so what, it's fascinating stuff (at least to me) and is interesting to re-read. I looked through my books and found in All My Afternoons a nearly exaactly the same formatted Day in Another World piece, but haven't found an AMC one, so I'm not sure where I've seen it before.
Members All My Shadows
That was a great read. We all know that things are different now, but I wonder how different. Like, do they still have those moments where the actors just hang around on the sets, waiting for their scene to come up? That sounds like something that they really don't have time for anymore.
Members DRW50
December 1976 Daytime TV. Sorry about the poor scan. If there's any of the text of this masterwork that you can't see, let me know and I'll type it out.
Members R Sinclair
It's not necessarily that they don't have time, it's just there's no need with block taping. Actors come in, get made up and dressed, then they're called to set when needed. ETA: Ooh, yay! I'm post #600!!
