Watching another March 2008 episode. Before Erica went to jail she gave this advice to Kendall: "Listen to me, Kendall. I want you to do this mental excercise. Whenever you see Aidan, I want you to ignore everything sexy about him. Just visualize something bland - A potted palm." LOL. Love her.

Colby and Frankie used to interact & had a budding relationship. Wow. Don't think I ever knew that.

I always had the impression that Brooke neither reported the rape nor told anyone about the subsequent abortion. Or maybe it was just Phoebe who was kept in the dark, since Ruth Warrick says, in her autobiography, how it all happened while she was on vacation and her character was away from town.

It seems that over the years, the rape was mentioned more than the subsequent abortion.

Brooke's rape was drudged up over the years in relation to other women raped on the show, which was many (Natalie, Gloria, Julia and Kit). When Ross was on trial for Natalie's rape, Brooke revealed to her new husband Adam that she had been raped by an acquaintance. This was around the time that acquaintance rape was becoming a more talked about matter.

When Julia was considering an abortion after her rape, Brooke was brought into the picture, and it was one of the few times her own abortion was brought up.

With Kit, Brooke was one of her few supporters.

And yes, when Brooke was told she must have an abortion to save her life, her previous abortion was alluded to at that time.

Susan Lucci's response to the NY Post's Cindy Adam's question on how she felt about being pink slipped from AMC after 41 years:

“Very sad. Disbelief, anger, tears, all of that. Hard even now for me to say All My Children in the past tense. It was a dreadful mourning period. I was incredulous. Took a year to get over it. Understand, I played Erica Kane 41 years. I started on the program’s 10th day. Soaps served a purpose for millions of multi-generational passionate fans. Every day someone tells me they miss it. One man said: ‘Cotton is not the fabric of our lives. In our house it was All My Children. It was a constant for his wife, who he knew always watched. Back from Afghanistan, the show was their conversation starter.”

The iconic soap star then went on to say about AMC’s axing: “I’m still not sure why it stopped. I had no heads up when it was going off. I learned when everybody found out, and there wasn’t even time to collect mementos. I only managed to get a red and white T-shirt that read ‘Free Erica Kane from jail.’’

I suspect we would have had a few withdrawals next year if Israel had won. I don't think many people would relish going to Jerusalem as things stand now. Not to mention it would have been a prime target for terrorist attacks.
    • And they've given us plenty. Sets, outdoor scenes, music licensing, etc. And that was the point of me using DAYS... so. It's obvious the casino set is not intended for long-term use, hence why it's likely it wasn't as evolved as the other community sets, etc.

    • I just had thought of how to save the Perkins family. (Inspired by Rituals) -- What if Marisa Perkins was Augusta Lockridge's sister? Fictionally, they could've both been local girls, one married rich and one married poor. Originally, I was going to suggest that Marisa be Sophia's sister, but then I realized Joe and Kelly would've been first cousins.  Of course, it would've truly inspired Sophia was if Rosa Andrade sister, with Rosa and Santana moving in to help CC raise the kids once Sophia disappeared.  While this could've avoided both gross CC and Santana affairs, the times were not right for a story about intersectional inequity.
    • https://www.instagram.com/p/DJxW5DLJLId/ Another World is my forever favorite soap opera. But it's finale is almost universally hated by its fans. What this is, is an edit where I've deleted everything I didn't like!!!
    • The Perkins family had potential to be a nice alternative to the more dysfunctional Capwells and wackier Lockridges... but I think a few factors did in the family. 1) Recasting of Joe Perkins 2) Bad casting of the Perkins Patriarch, and the one note writing for that character. 3) Lack of antagonistic interaction between the Capwells/Lockridges and Perkins.  (There was no awkwardness between Jade/Ted.. or CC disapproving of his son being friends with that Perkins girl, etc). 4) Wasting of Jade thus wasting the potential of the actress (which was realized on Days of Our Lives).  She had more potential than Laken oddly enough. The only member of the Perkins family that had appeal and a somewhat thought out story arc was Amy.
    • @GymnastGuyThanks for posting the three new Capitol 1985 episodes today. The two labeled March 12, and 13 are misidentified. The March 12 labeled one actually aired November 12 1985 which I figured out because Kenny Rogers' movie Wild Horses aired November 12th and it was announced over the "March 12" Cap credits. In addition, Craig Carlson is listed in the April credits but not the March. Craig left Capitol sometime after July 1985 before he rejoined OLTL in the credits by October 15, 1985; he was replaced on Cap by Radcliffe and Hamner. In these posted episodes Radcliffe/Hamner names appear in the March 85 episodes but not in the April.
