Wow, I never knew this about AMC/OLTL 2.0 and PP - so sad for all involved that didn't actually get paid.

TV Guide July 14-20 1984

Sometimes a fan's dreams of daytime can come true. They have for New York hair stylist Jim Nelson, an avid viewer of All My Children for more than 12 years, Last winter, Nelson had a friend get him in to see a rehearsal of the show. By day's end, he had been hired as the soap's new hairdresser. "I couldn't believe it," he says. "I had just wanted to meet Susan Lucci." Ah, but there's more. Nelson is also something of a songwriter. And backstage one day recently, he was playing a tape of one of his compositions. The show's musical director heard it, liked it—and picked the song as the love ballad for Tad and Hillary. “This whole thing has been a dream come true,’ says Nelson. “It is possible for a fan to get in there. I feel like one of the family. It's not even like going to work.”

Thanks. I wonder how long he was with AMC. IMDB just has a few 1984 credits with him.

It's nice to see Susan making the rounds to promote "La Lucci." I wish I could've met her during her signings last week. I need to pick up her book soon.

I'll try to watch the Locher Room with Michael Bruno this week. LGBTQ stories are given more priority now but it really was groundbreaking when AMC did their story.

It is fun to ponder what has happened to Erica since AMC left ABC. Did she make that movie? Was it a success? (I'd say "no"). What ELSE has Erica done since then (and who else has she married, lol)?

Michael B. Jordan talks about working with Susan Lucci. He mentions Walt and also Darnell. Was Darnell on when Michael was on the show? I thought Reggie had already left when Jesse returned from the dead. Maybe Darnell directed Michael?

I always love when big stars talk fondly of their soap beginnings. This was so nice of him. I love MBJ even more now )

I love this too - thanks for posting! It must have been his time being an acting coach and/or directing at AMC, because you're right, Reggie left in 2006 and Jesse came back in 2008.

All this talk about where/what Erica was doing... reminded me that Jack Montgomery was on GH back in 2023 for a handful of episode. He mentioned that as of that time, he and Erica had been divorced for several years. I guess that technically would be canon...

I like to think that Jackson and Erica went on a few breaks and reunited. GH went out of its way to disregard/disrupt the histories of AMC/OLTL characters. I'm happy to ignore anything that happened post cancellation.

This is how I like to view it too :) And clearly Susan isn't having any of GH dictating her character's future haha.
