Eva La Rue joins Beyond TV to commemorate the launch of All My Children streaming on their platform, beginning with her fertility storyline in 1995.

How great was that, thanks for posting!!  I love her. It really gets you excited to watch these episodes in high quality.

So sad to hear about her having a stalker for 12 years - how terrifying!

Windows 11 has a VPN built in, you need to search for it in settings, Firefox and Edge each have their own free VPN's as well.

Thanks!  I'll have to research and figure out how to make it all work, but I did see there is a built in VPN app on my computer :)

Now I understand the pricing of the episodes. This sounds like a masterpiece.

Sorry for the spoiler there...

In all seriousness, kudos to them for doing an interview with Eva and giving this a proper rollout.

On the All My Children/One Life To Live crossover storyline, they had Kelly struggle with infertility. Desperate to save her marriage, she pretended to be pregnant, somehow wound up with Bebe's Baby, then the scheme was exposed. But then in a moment of weakness, Kelly sleeps with her step-son, and viloa she is pregnant! But not until after they have a building fall on both of them after they have sex, killing her step-son, the father of her child.

I'm really curious why they chose May 2 as their starting point... my guess is Erica's fall and subsequent painkiller addiction storyline, considering she's probably the biggest name known internationally from this soap opera. This leads to one of my favorite villains - Dr. Jonathan Kinder - and iconic moments like Erica's speech/breakdown at the Media Woman of the Year awards, etc.

Anyway, had they chosen to start a couple weeks later in April, it would have been Janet and her bomb. Until I just saw this again, I had totally forgotten about Robin Mattson's PSA they aired before the episodes given the Oklahoma City bombings occurring around that time. They didn't have time to re-write or re-film everything, so they went with the bomb storyline for a bit until the end where she eventually didn't use it and instead got struck by lightening, which then led to other great character intros/storylines. Also Laurel getting shot live on TV instead of this bomb was also another amazing storyline with long legs. But the article is a great read and the embedded Instagram video of this PSA is such a blast from the past:

Saw this photo posted recently on another site. And I know Kate Collins left and wasn’t fired. But seeing her as Natalie and OG Janet in the photo really reminded me how much the show lost when she left. I didn’t even see most of her run at the time, but she was just such a fantastic actor with a great, layered character.

But there must be a reason why not in the US. Maybe another streaming service will get these episodes for US audience?

@Maxim i will send you a PM :)

Their FAQ says it's because ABC owns the viewing rights in the US. I gather this means that ABC doesn't own the international rights.

I love a good group photo of whodunnit suspects. (Also, did anyone watching in 1992 really suspect Erica?)

I think the real Natalie had left even before Kate was gone, but I do think she was still a real loss for AMC. An actress capable of coldness, vulnerability, humor, grand passion.

The alleged circumstances of her exit make it even worse.

Enlighten me? Was it something to do with James Kiberd?

Another one of my favorites, though not from AMC. I also love these kinds of stories on soaps!

Allegedly, Kiberd crossed the line with his behavior towards and around Collins, and she was either going to file harassment charges or had done so. TPTB chose him over her. (That's the short summary.)

Man, what does it say when 1996 Bobbie and Tony are closer than 1996 Luke and Laura?

And one more.

I think it was a stylistic choice to put them as kind of bookends. Edward with his hands on Sonny’s shoulders doesn’t make any in-character sense. At the time they were firmly back in full Luke and Laura mode, reunited and against a common enemy with Damian Smith. Just in time for a few months later for Nikolas to arrive and blow it all up again. Well structured when you think about it, reminding the audience of them as a team just before fracturing it pretty much forever.

Love that OLTL cover too. I really was into Jake and Megan as a couple.

I can’t imagine why ABC wouldn’t own the international rights — who else would? Maybe they’re licensing it abroad while holding on to the U.S. rights, just in case (fingers crossed) they decide to put the show on Disney+.
