The promoter Romanivich was the one who complained about the fact that P&G wouldn't sell him characters from GL. But he had no intention of a new "GL" it was to use them

for some time of road show promotion which sounds very tacky IMO. That could be the extent of the "offers" ABC got or they were so low it was a joke or maybe Univision or maybe nothing to try and get fans worked up the day before planned protests.

I'm willing to bet that there's no lawyer involved. If there were he or she would've already said there's no way a judge will certify such a class.

Spread what word? More rumors? More unfounded hope? Either give people some real information or be quiet. This just looks like an attempt to gin up interest in the Emmys. I'm guessing this Romanovich person is The Soap Whisperer. I know it's the end of days in the soapverse but I still hate the fact that all that's left are egomaniacs and people trying to shake people down for a buck.

I have a hard time believing that a real source actually made an offer. Didn't Romanivich make reference on twitter to making and offer for AMC and OLTL and got turned down. For both the show as well as the traveling thing.

His company does not have the money to buy these shows. Maybe he offered the same crap he offerd P&G for GL which would have led to some cheap road show with a few soap actors.

I happen to agree. If multiple offers have been made, tell people who is making them so fans have the chance to get behind them versus the continual negative campaigning against big bad Disney. It's kind of convenient this "rumor" comes out the day before the emmy's.

And for someone who loves daytime so much, Romanivich who is producing them is again focusing less on daytime and more on Vegas schmaltz and Oprah getting her lifetime achievement award and Celine Dion and Marie Osmond performing. And no tribute and I'll bet it has nada to do with the fact they thing AMC and OLTL might get picked up and more to do with losing time they can use to advertise Las Vegas

I can't believe the soaps are getting less attention than Marie Osmond performing. Geez. Nothing against the woman but every time I've seen her for the last 3-4 years I'm afraid she's going to have a complete nervous breakdown live on stage.

Didn't Oprah already get a lifetime achievement award?

I wonder how many care at this point. She's been saying goodbye for five years and finally did say goodbye last month. Then again she will still probably get more viewers than soaps.

I can't believe they aren't going to have anything for AMC or OLTL. People liked to sneer about the P&G soaps as being for old people, but AMC was a touchstone for many throughout the 80's, so there's no real excuse for it to ignored.

Sadly, I think THEY think they're giving AMC and OLTL fans the continued lessening hope that their shows will be "saved" in the final hours. All this "keep hope alive" is just a bunch of BS.

I wonder will the 2012 Daytime Emmy Awards do any sort of tribute for those two departed shows in June 2012, or will they continue to try and keep folks from thinking that ABCD will announce GH's cancellation by that time?

      On May 27, Johnny spoke to Sami on the phone, and learned that Sami and Sydney were trying to fly in from Sicily, but were stopped by a volcanic eruption because the ash had grounded all the planes.   We discussed on the May thread that ash from Mt. Etna in Sicily caused planes to be grounded in July 2024, just two weeks before Cwikly/Ford took over.  I just discovered that Mt. Etna had another eruption August 15, 2024, which also grounded flights.  And Mt. Etna had been going through "eruptive phases" during a few weeks of May 2025. And that Mt. Etna has been considered "active" since 2022.   Friday May 30, Will said that Sami and Sydney found another flight and will be here soon. Well, Sami and Sydney got out just in time, because … There was (and still is ongoing) a huge eruption of Mt.       Agree to disagree. Like first, love second. OH, agree, agree, agree! Legendary Featherstone, you're not dressing this one well at all. Petite woman with ample bosom, wrong clothes = awful  matronly looking ugh. I'm sorry but I felt hit over the head with everything each of them thought & felt for about 6 more days than I felt I had signed on for.  I don't know you well enough to know if you will know when I'm teasing, so I've just warned you that I am when I say, I hate for you that you haven't actually met Danielle before. LOL. To me it was just a natural take.  I have no problem going back & forth between those two focal sites. But, I am certainly aware that early on I had an expectation of being really into their having 27 sets & that has definitely not been the realization. And, yes, for now, Frank is still heads above any & all others with us & sets IMO.  Huh? Guza gone. I have it in my head that he was only willing to come out of retirement (and presumed mourning) for a "certain amount of time" to help get this new creature launched, but had no desire to stay & so was one of the "over-staffed intentionally" that we were told about. Of course there's been no official word on the circumstances of his leaving.  But, you might mean go with Guza as in a style, if so, ignore the last para.

      I'm so pleased we have such fan engagement about Dani. Reminds me of some other soap characters. I think it's because they are "polarizers" which is a word I may have just made up. They are polarizing on their shows to other characters & to story & they are polarizing in the audience as fans seem to have extreme reactions to them, love & hate, not middling neutrality, ya know? Well, it's a theory.  To me the human being you seek has been amply shown especially to two people & both more or less recently. Her sister bond with Nicole, whoa, has knocked me back & blown me away. And, with Chelsea, over her budding sexual identity and awareness. She gathered instantly that something was up with that daughter & was laser focused on her for several scenes. Then, for a third, she & Pamela have finally, also recently, been so real & genuine & authentic.

      Thanks, Paul, I did not know about his interest in the comedic elements or that he was one of our many people who came from the network! I have always liked Marlena de la Croix's writing, which is not to say I 100% agree with her. She's been a member of my FB soap group for a good long time & she actually posts, which I love. Recently I posted about an e-copy of Robert LaGuardia's SOAP WORLD that is free to borrow like a library e-book but on the Internet Archive site & I posted that at the time of their publications, all of his soap opera books were the gold standard.  She immediately posted about "Bob" who was her close friend & how much she still misses him to this day & that he loved to talk soaps & was also a nice guy, etc. which I was over the moon to have her share about the author & his time etc. like that!!!

      I really wonder why they chose to write this whole ‘John is getting better’ part of the storyline, especially since we all knew what was really going to happen. And I hope we find out the answer someday. But as tough and as tearjerking as today was, it was also really beautiful. And the acting, even though a lot of it if not all of it was real, was spectacular. The flashbacks were beautiful too. I honestly can’t even describe how much I enjoyed today.  Having so many of John and Marlena’s scenes be focused on the two of them and their love story was the right decision. It was a fitting end to John and Marlena. And I’m also glad that John and Steve got to have one last goodbye after everything that happened. As for Bo and Hope and their family, I did think that some parts were a little unnecessary but I really enjoyed Bo’s dream and his reunion with Zack. The acting playing Zack actually did a pretty good job too. Everybody encouraging Bo to fight was really the right decision in this storyline as well.  As for the final minutes of today, be prepared. I actually have tears running down my cheeks as I write this.
