I can't record it because DAYS/OLTL are on at the same time at 1pm recording :( Hope someone posts the interview on youtube soon after.

In LA, there's speculation that they will have news as well to fill Oprah's time. That means local news from 3pm-6pm and World News from 6-6:30pm. Too much!

I thought I saw a commercial here in LA today that said The Dr's would be replacing Oprah in September or something like that. I was half paying attention so I'm not sure lol

I'm glad it's not local news!

I mentioned it earlier, but now I know for sure that it's Dr. Oz... They reported it in tonight's ABC7 news during the story on Oprah's finale.

IA that GH has lacked a law enforcement element that's as strong as its organized crime one. Comparing the Port Charles P.D. to the Keystone Cops is almost an insult to the KC, if you ask me.

Sometimes I get a sense that in the past hes done this out of bitterness to an extent so I am glad here he not only addressed GH but didnt

automatically attack Bob Guza as the reason and he's right. This was a strategy way beyond Brian Frons. It doesn't excuse the PR nightmare

Frons is.

I also like that he talked about the fact that daytime has been in decline since the 80s and does not just automatically blame it on the usual suspects and how the industry need to look at other succesful areas like primetime serial dramas and even reality TV and find out what they are doing to attract viewers.

Some great stuff from Tristan Rogers, about Guza leaving

http://www.tristanrogers.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=3040

This is what I'm hoping to see more of from these actors. Honesty without tantrums.

Does anyone seriously think that the ABC would eliminate two of it’s soaps and then make a “banzai run” to save the third. If ABC had been serious at all about saving its shows the move would have started about 6 years ago. There would have been a new VP of Daytime first then a very serious assessment of all its soaps to see what was working and what wasn’t.

Common sense and straight talk is a very sexy combination.

All My Children's last tape date: September 2 according to the latest Soap Digest.

:(

That's interesting. They usually don't tape on Fridays. I wonder if they are starting to given they have a break coming up in July.

Great post. ITA. Getting out of the "soap" business goes above even Frons. I knew our soaps could have been so much better. :(

I find it ironic that in Chicago, Oprah will be immediately replaced tomorrow with a local lifestyle show. Chicago won't get to enjoy any reruns through September like most of the country.

It is strange, but we'll still get our 11:05pm reruns. They're keeping those going until September, when they'll finally let Jimmy Kimmel air after Nightline. Funny that Oprah reruns always trumped Kimmel.

Watching Susan Lucci on The Talk --- she said the show might go on! She was asked how the show will end, and she said they aren't sure it will yet, so the end hasn't been officially written or written in a way that will be final. UGH! I need to know what happens!
