LOL, that storyline was going when I was in high school. There was a scene where Erica and Myrtle were boarding the plane to rehab and the paparzzi were swarming here. My friend who i was watching with was like, "Why are they doing that??" I was like, "Because she's Erica Kane!" Friend: " Yeah, I know, but... why are they doing that?" Me: "Erica Kane's famous, like, not just in real life, her character is famous on the show!"

Oh, please give me Erica in a hoodie again, please! Even if it's a Juicy Couture hoody, I'll take it! Just give the woman some pain killers already!

LMAO!

I remember that, too.

Erica was on her way to the Betty Ford Clinic in California.

Erica and her damn hoodies. Every time she's high, the hoodies come out!

Okay I can't believe she drank straight from the bottle. All this talk about hoodies I thought she would have one on. But in all honesty I think she drank the wine to get kendall's attention.

I really enjoyed the E/K scenes too along with all the reflections on Mona. Erica and Kendall having that joint pity party, Erica's inappropriate what about me melt down in front of the widow, Kendall/Erica testy with each other, and ending it with one of them collapsing. Drama, drama, drama. And soapy.

Due to all the years of handling Erica and her craziness, I always feel like Mona is laughing in soap heaven when Erica is having trouble handling the kids.

And has it REALLY been seven years since Eric died/the intervention with Mark and all??

They were very specific with the 7 years, this many months and that many hours, but it's been more like six and a half years since the intervention. It was in July 2004 and the hoodie does appear...

Did AM get even thinner? I don't watch often but my gosh she looks like a tooth pick! She barely filled out the tights she wore in today's eppy.

  • Member

That's funny, cuz I've thought that she's filled out a little since she got pregnant. ^_^ She has very prominent cheekbones and her lower face had been looking fuller. She's very thin yet manages to keep some butt which is impressive.

Thanks Angela, time flies! Erica has had so many damn sets...

Susan Lucci killed it - way to bring it in 2011 girl!

I loved the first scene too when Erica was writing to Mona. There was quite a bit of CHARACTER development in today's episode, which was nice.

It's just starting here now...the script is written by the one you can't stand!! LOL Rebecca Taylor.

Figures. <_<

Erica and an RT script. Two strikes. I think I'll pass.

I loved this episode and I thought Susan Lucci was amazing. She actually made me cry with her. It was an awesome episode and a great way to start 2011. I hope we get a lot more episodes like this one this year.

I really love how this episode is starting out with Erica writing a letter to her mom wub.gif

Ok that whole Erica/Kendall scene was AMAZING. SL rocked it!! and omg @ Kendall coughing out of nowhere and collapsing onto Caleb. I bet that wine she was drinking had something to do with it, plus all the stress she's been going through!! Her heart is suffering.

Caleb makes me sick to my stomach. All these scenes he's having with Erica, Jackson should be in his place!! Ugh. AMC is so trying to make him the new Jackson. He's a lawyer and everything. rolleyes.gif

Kendall's back in a hospital bed again sad.gif and it turns out she shot David, and doesn't even remember. Didn't we already go through that with Stuart. I was hoping for a new, different S/L for Kendall in 2011.

To late, Jackson mad.gif

Oh wow that Caleb/Erica kiss was way to long! How inappropriate sad.gif this is all wrong. I think AMC is making a mistake with these two.

Overall great episode. Erica's breakdown with Kendall was the best part. It was shocking when she took the sip of wine! Then she talked about the struggle she goes through everyday not to take a drink. "The inner fury and the frustration behind my meek little glass of sparking cider." loved that!! Gosh that whole scene was just incredible.

Lucci was pretty incredible in her scenes with Minshew. Loved, loved, loved all the character-driven dialogue. I teared up a bit when she was writing that letter to Mona. I could even stomach her scenes with Nouri. What dragged it down a bit for me was the storyline itself. I mean, how many times have we seen the "mother protecting her daughter from a crime she forgets committing" plotline? This is the best Donna and David could come up with? Seriously? But I digress. Aside from that, it was a terrifically written episode. It's really a shame that a show that has such terrific scriptwriting has such lackluster overall storytelling.

She was awesome. I loved every minute up to her kissing the barfbag,. What a creep. It was a total inappropriate moment and they were so awkward and have no chemistry at all. YUCK. I actually felt like she was using him . I beleived her words to Mona about her love for Jack and how she had learned and wouldn't make the same mistakes again. Then 6 minutes later after having a melt down and a drink, she is kissing this creep after he promises to help her? Nope, don't buy it at all. Maybe we'll get lucky and Erica will be drunk through this entire relationship

He can't be Jackson. He has no chemistry with HEr  This guy isn't cutting it and its time to pull the plug. He isn't going to win over Jack and the Jerica fans, IMO  BTW, the jerk is always crying and whining that Adam took his woman, but what is he doing now to a man he calls a friend? Idiot.

I loved today's episode for all of its old-school Erica arm-flailing glory. You sip that champers Erica, you sip it for all it's worth. Just fall to pieces. Had to "pffft" at sleeveless Erica telling Kendall to stay out of the cold with that cough. I will never tire of beating that dead horse, it was WAY too cold for her to be wearing that. She looked great in that coat though, fit her perfectly, especially up top in profile. But really, Erica hasn't showed this side of herself to Kendall since SMG was in the part, it was really classic Erica type acting, the fun stuff that SL used to always get panned for, the fun stuff that made her a the daytime megastar. And has it REALLY been seven years since Eric died/the intervention with Mark and all??

I didn't realize how many people I pulled quotes from, but for the most part, I agree with all of you! To wit, this was a fantastic episode that was character driven and gave Susan Lucci her best material all year. However, predicating it around Erica kissing Caleb at the end was a dumb move that ruined what Erica was trying to tell Mona about how she would no longer make the same stupid mistakes. Also, one Kane woman protecting another who can't remember what she did feels like a direct ripoff of McT having Kendall cover for Bianca shooting Michael Cambias. I'm tired of Erica being in a triangle and this one is just lame because Erica has no chemistry with Caleb. If only D&D would give Lucci a story where Erica really dealt with something life-and-death like a breast tumor or some other disease and she truly started to grow up.
