This is from the "Best and Worst" issue for this year. Credit goes to DontStare for posting these at Soapcentral:

Cara debuts on 12/9. CS enthuses that she's happy that she and RPG are getting rich material. Cara (Jake's ex-wife) and Amanda encounter each other at Confusion. Cara realizes who Amanda is, but Amanda has no idea who Cara is. Cara is not happy that Jake's moved on notes LH. Hartley says she's not used to playing confident which Cara is. They're going to do flashbacks of Jake/Cara's romance which LH thinks is cool. CS was a little shaken by it, she's not used to seeing her man macking on another lady. Bobbie Eakes loves on LH big-time in the casting section.

Madison is pregnant - which SG says she saw coming, lol. She gets the news after telling Ryan to get out of her life. She's shocked and confused. She doesn't know if she's going to tell Ryan. She knows he'd want to help but... She then learns Rylee has moved in together - she's alone and pregnant & they're shakcing up.

There's a picture of Eddie Matos (Father Ricky) at the Slater home in front of a shrine (I think it's the memorial) of Zach/Zendall pictures. In the casting section, AM chats about him - talks about how cute he is (she knew him through Terri I.) and talks about the ease w/them working together.

New Father Clarence (Michael McCarthy) will do this years batch of Christmas miracles. AM says she misses Malachy so much but Michael did a terrific job.

VI is back if you didn't know (Allen is out as his daughter on 12/17, who he'll miss). There's a long interview with him. He talks about the Facebook, etc outcry over his exit. Him and the show had renegotiated months before the story in preperation so the "negotiations" thing was part of the ruse. He talks about how relieved he is to finally be able to stop with the secrecy. Some people knew, some didn't (on set) - they were ordered to keep quiet. He was called Sawyer (LOST) in the return scripts/calltimes. He was surprised that David was shot, thinks it's a bit ungrateful of the PVites. Adds that your always solidly on the show only through the next arc, and he for sure is.

Best Special Episode: AMC's 40th

Best Couple: Jack and Erica

Worst Couple: Ryan and Greenlee

Worst Recast: Eden Riegel, Y&R

Worst Short-Term Return: Zach

Biggest Waste of Talent: Tad

Best Use of History: Brooke & Adam

Most Improved Show: AMC (They basically compare it to Pratt's lightning speed and total lack of respect; credit to Broderick and even to D&D for making AMC feel much more like AMC)

So the Rylee Express has claimed another victim, eh? That's tragic. I mean, I don't care for Madison, but nobody deserves to be crushed under the weight of that illogical couple.

Here are the SOW spoilers as well. Credit also goes to DontStare for posting these spoilers at Soapcentral:

Gatschet notes that you don't get to see Madison's immediate reaction to pregnancy. It's the ending of one episode, next episode she's working furiously at Fusion. Frankie tells his shocked bud that you can't just ignore it. Deciding whether or not to tell Ryan will be a long-process. He's moved on and she's feeling like he doesn't really deserve a say in her decisions here. Madison does tell Randi about the baby after they run-in to each other and they share a sweet friendship moment. SG notes that Randi lost a baby about a year ago and it might have been Mady's fault and it's acknowledged slightly but the scenes are to show they're at a better place now.

JR Martinez is interviewed about Brot/Natalia. Brot stops chasing Natalia which scares her b/c she thinks she's losing him. So she has to step up and tell him what's going on with her. She does. It's a touching moment. JR wants Brot to become a kickbutt detective in 2011 & he hopes they're not just going to put B/N together to break them up.

Wk of 12/6

Amanda questions Jake about his attitude with Griff

Erica warns Greens to stay away from her daughter

Zach's memorial service

Kendall suspects Griffin no longer has the green Zach gave him for the MC

Rylee move in together

Caleb and Asher grow closer

12/10: Cara/Amanda bump into each other

Wk of 12/13 Tad has a warning for Cara. Madison tells Frankie her decision. Annie tears apart her room in a rage.

MISS: The Chandler/Cortland blood fued. JR and Caleb are not Adam and Palmer. JR is an immature, shallow, selfish mess and Caleb is a newbie. The talks about how Palmer/Adam happened over decades and how complex their characters were. JR and Caleb both need to "grow" before they're even close to that.

MAIL: A fan thinks AMC should have divorced Z/K, expresses unhappiness w/writers interview. Rylee haters/Zendall lovers loud and proud.

Predictable as all heck, but AMC's editor loves that David's back.

There's an Erica/Jack/Caleb YOU DECIDE poll up at the SOW site.

I also think it's unfortunate that Ryan is having children with almost everyone except the woman that he loves. And I could see Madison coming off as extra pitiful in this storyline. At least in the beginning. Maybe she will find a man that will end up supporting/loving her through and after this pregnancy storyline.

I think that this storyline would have come off better if Ryan still had romantic feelings for Madison/possibly in love with her as well. I think it would have better if he was torn between both Greenlee and Madison romantically.

Or they could have went the route of having Madison scheme against him/Greenlee while pregnant with his child. But I don't really want to see that happen and I don't think that will happen. Even though I am not looking forward to seeing Madison acting really pitiful either.

I really love VI for this. He's candid about the manipulations of ABC instead of giving some bullshit cloak and dagger response ala Brandon Buddy and Trevor St John. Everyone and their mama knew David wasn't really dead and it's past time Frons and his posse stop insulting viewer intelligence.

The Cara stuff sounds good. I can't wait to see LH on the show. I hope AMC has no plans to hook Cara and Jake back up. Also hope that Cara doesn't just interact with Jake, Amanda, & Griffin. I could see LH mixing it up with the rest of the cast as well so I'm crossing my fingers that's what'll happen.

My only hope for this Madison storyline is that she's really pregnant with Frankie's child. I'm going to pay close attention to Frankie in his scenes with Madison in the coming weeks....here's hoping something else went on the night of Caleb's party, & Madison was to drunk to remember. But Frankie does and he's keeping it a secret. The fact that Madison and Randi bond over this a little bit, and Randi's miscarriage is mentioned during all of it, gives me a little hope....it would be perfect if Madison was having Frankie's baby. Randi would just not have it! She lost his child and now Madison is having it. lol that would just be awesome to watch...

Agreed with SOD about Zach's returns being the worst. MEK/Tad waste of talent? hm I actually think the show did great with him earlier in the year with the Damon storyline. Things have fizzled though and Tad has barely been on. I wish AMC would bring Hillary back and explore more of the Damon/Tad/Hillary angle of things. Damon and Liza need to sleep together & the show needs to bring back Marion to and just stir the pot and mine story!!

AMC was the most improved soap IMO. I agree with SOD. The show really has gotten better. I think from February to July AMC was really on the right track. August things started to get pretty rocky but I don't think it's to bad now. It could be a lot better though. I was thinking about LB's writing for AMC from Feb-May, and it was so good...Natalia actually had somewhat of a story under her. LB created Ryan/Madison, a pairing I think a lot of people actually liked! Loved what she did with Damon & Tad. It was genius to put JR & Annie together. Brooke & Adam were great. David and Greenlee were great. AMC was really getting better I think...

ITA about VI. I understand being obligated to lie but I can't stomach the ones who keep lying afterward. However you are so wrong about people knowing that David wasn't dead. I was shocked by the number of people on the AMC Facebook page who thought he was really gone. Of course 90% of those people seem functionally illiterate to begin with.

For all the people hoping it's Frankie's baby I just want to ask, what network are YOU watching this show on? Because I'm watching it on ABC and that's just not going to happen. I really would like to subscribe to the special feed of AMC where Frankie Hubbard is something other than a backburnered dayplayer.

    • I really have no problem with Kai as a character or with the actor. The problem is putting together two very nice people -- Kai and Trina. Neither of them has a bad side, neither of them has a devil on the shoulder, neither of them is impulsive. I think that's a problem in a soap relationship. Yeah, I agree. All this freaking out might make sense if Lulu wanted to do a tabloid expose on BLQ's LOVE CHILD. We have no indication that's the case.
    • So Sonni would have somebody to talk to who she wasn't conspiring with (Will or Alan)? Alex kept telling Sonni how important her friends were...when she had virtually no friends. Instead they created loyal servants like Jane and Vera to give Alex people to play off of. They did that with Iris on AW, but Vivien was mostly there for comic relief Alex keeping Marah's paternity a secret was absurd. But I still love the scene between Alex and Alan where he convinces her by reminding her how they protected each other from their abusive father. Chris and Bev ATE that scene. Unfortunately, that took place only a few months before he exited the show...always thought they could have built on that, explored more how being Brandon's children screwed them both up. Maybe even used it as an explanation for the way their relationship could constantly swing from hatred to love. Instead of it being merely dictated by the plot.
    • The first one is Cass Winthrop dressed as Krystle Lake on Another World (not from his original creation of the character to hide from the loan shark Tony the Tuna, but at a romance convention trying to find out what had happened to Felicia who was missing). The second one is also Another World, Jake McKinnon as Doris although I don't recall what his purpose was.
    • I know there was one brief scene in the summer of 1989 where Lillian did mention Calla.. but in relation to her past relationship to Ross and it was to Roger while he was a patient at Cedars.  I think he was trying to pump her for information on Ross.. and for some reason, Calla's name came up.   I could see perhaps Beth mentioning that her mother Lillian was visiting Calla.. but not exactly giving any sort of details as to the going ons in Calla's life off screen.
    • Mac Scorpio and Kevin Collins, GH

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
